Katy Perry is facing court for making an 'obscene' on stage gesture. The 'Part of Me' singer was performing in India to mark the new Twenty20 cricket season when she invited Australian ace Doug Bollinger up to join her. Katy asked him to show her how to hold a bat, so the 30-year-old sportsman stood behind her, wrapped his arms round her and as Katy held her microphone, he put his hands on hers and lowered the microphone to her groin. Katy Perry may face legal action in India in relation to a performance back in April. Lawyer K Jebakumar has filed an indecency complaint against the 'Teenage Dream' singer and Australian cricketer Doug Bollinger over their dance moves on stage at the launch of the Indian Premier League. Jebakumar claims that Perry and Bollinger offended members of the public with their on-stage antics, while also distracting pupils taking exams, reports The Sun. Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have been sent legal notices for obscene dance moves during their performances at the opening ceremony of Ipl 5 in Chennai that was held in April this year. The notice was sent based on a petition filed by advocate K Jebakuma at the Madras High Court bench in Madurai.
The petitioner alleged that the dance and performances of the celebrities were "obscene and lascivious, appealing to prurient interest". Besides the above mentioned Bollywood actors, notice have also been sent to international pop star Katy Perry who also performed at the opening ceremony, cricketer Doug Bollinger and Ipl Commissioner Rajiv Shukla, Bcci chief N. Srinivasan and a Set Max official.
The case is scheduled to be heard on July 31. »
