New Extended Spots For ‘The Grey’ Throws Liam Neeson to the Wolves

25 December 2011 8:45 AM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Now that Liam Neeson beat the snot out of mankind in movies like Taken and Unknown, it’s time to move on to nature.

Two new TV spots for the survival thriller The Grey – out January 27 – show Neeson battling the elements and, more importantly, hungry wolves against the picturesque backdrop of the Alaskan wild. He plays the member of an oil drilling team that survives a plane crash only to find themselves at the mercy of an unforgiving wilderness.

This marks the second time the star has worked with writer/director Joe Carnahan since the two tore up The A-Team back in 2010, and from the looks of these trailers, the two really let the fur fly (pun totally intended). Check out the spots below for the film also starring Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney and Frank Grillo.

Extended Twitter TV Spot for The Grey Starring Liam Neeson

23 December 2011 9:14 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

The first trailer for the upcoming The Grey made it almost seem like Liam Neeson was going to be alone as he fights off the elements and a pack of wolves after being stranded in the Alaskan wild after a plane crash. The second trailer offered more of Neeson's fellow survivors, including Frank Grillo (Warrior), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding), Dallas Roberts (3:10 To Yuma), Joe Anderson (The Crazies), James Badge Dale (the upcoming World War Z, HBO’s The Pacific), and Nonso Anozie (Conan The Barbarian).

The Grey debuted at Ain't It Cool News' Butt-Numb-a-Thon earlier this month, and, after the strong response, The Grey director Joe Carnahan (The A-Team) sent them an extended, Twitter TV spot, which includes footage mostly pulled from the second trailer along with reviews and responses sent over Twitter about the movie.

New Extended TV Spot for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey

22 December 2011 3:13 PM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

A new, Twitterific TV spot for “The Grey”, in which Liam Neeson plays his usual badass self as he leads a bunch of plane crash survivors against some angry (and hungry) wolves out there in the vast wastelands of Alaska. I’m guessing petting those wolves probably isn’t going to work here, but hey, you never know until you try, right? A group of oil-rig roughnecks are left stranded on the sub-arctic tundra after their plane experiences a complete mechanical failure and crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. The survivors, battling mortal injuries, biting cold and ravenous hunger, are relentlessly hunted and pursued by a vicious pack of rogue wolves. Starring Liam Neeson, Dermot Mulroney, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale, Dallas Roberts, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie, Ben Bray and directed by Joe Carnahan. Takin’ them on January 27, 2012. The Grey - New 90-Second TV Spot for the Liam Neeson Thriller

22 December 2011 10:00 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Here's a great new 90-second TV Spot for the Joe Carnahan directed film The Grey, which stars Liam Neeson. The trailer contains a good amount of new footage from the film and gives us a little more insight on the story and some of the other characters than the previous trailers. The movie also stars Dallas RobertsJames Badge DaleDermot Mulroney and Frank Grillo.

This film has a very different feel to it than Carnahan's previous films such as Smokin' Aces and The A-Team. It looks like it could be one of his better scripted films. I'm looking forward to seeing how the movie turns out. One thing for sure is Neeson looks like he's going to be kicking all kinds of wolf ass.

Survival Horror 'The Grey' a "Man's Man's Movie"

22 December 2011 7:12 AM, PST | bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news »

Opening January 27, 2012 from Open Road is director Joe Carnahan's (A-Team) The Grey, a thriller that stars Liam Neeson (Unknown, After.Life), Dallas Roberts (Joshua, The Factory), James Badge Dale (The Departed), Dermot Mulroney (Zodiac), Frank Grillo (My Soul to Take, Mother's Day), Nonso Anozie (RocknRolla), and Joe Anderson. The film apparently screened for critics and the result was overwhelmingly positive. So much so that Open Road created a third trailer featuring new footage and loads of quotes. My personal favorite: "It's a man's man's movie." Unlike 300, this appears to be a true statement. "In 'The Grey,' Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt before their time runs out." »

Warner Bros Pull A Sneaky Monkey By Silently Slipping The Factory Into Theatres

20 December 2011 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Well this sneaked past everyone but the limited run in the Us for Warner Bros' 'The Factory' has kicked off finally. The Morgan O'Neill helmed crime thriller shuffled into theatres under the radar with not so much as a teasing trailer to peak our interests. The Dark Castle production stars John Cusack ('1408', 'The Raven'), Jennifer Carpenter -below ('Dexter'), Sonya Walger ('Lost'), Mae Whitman ('Arrested Development'), Michael Trevino ('The Vampire Diaries'), Ksenia Solo ('Black Swan'), Cindy Sampson ('Supernatural'), Katherine Waterson, Cas Anvar and Dallas Roberts. So even with a pretty decent cast to boast about we can't be too sure why this has gently, and sadly, sneaked in the back door. »

John Cusack Sneaks into Theatres Today with The Factory

19 December 2011 12:05 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

It isn't often that a big star like John Cusack has a film come out that hardly anyone has even heard of, but that's the case with The Factory, written by Morgan O'Neill and Paul Leyden and directed by O'Neill, which lands in theatres via a limited release today, December 19th, by Warner Bros.

After learning of the film's release via Next Movie, we tracked down a teaser poster from over a year ago for the flick, but no trailer seems to exist. In any event, here's the synopsis for The Factory, which, along with Cusack, stars Jennifer Carpenter, Mae Whitman, Michael Trevino, Ksenia Solo, Sonya Walger, Cas Anvar, Cindy Sampson, and Dallas Roberts.

It's probably more thriller than pure horror, but considering the cast and crew, we thought it worth a mention.

Synopsis:

Detective Mike Fletcher (Cusack), a rugged and obsessive police officer, and his partner, Kelsey Walker (Carpenter »
