The film, directed by Atul Malhotra, stars Rez Kempton as a Sikh, Sam Vincenti as a Muslim, and Martin Delaney as an Irish Catholic. Set in contemporary London, the trio — who were childhood friends — face unforeseen changes to their lives, such as interracial marriage, near-fatal accidents, and prison, that test old friendships and family values.
Netflix will release the film internationally on June 20 and on DVD in North America. The film, produced by Victoria Barrell and Malhotra, is touted as the first western film to feature a turbaned Sikh in the lead. The title is an homage to the 1977 Bollywood film “Amar Akbar Anthony,” which centered on the reunification of three separated brothers.
“Amar Akbar & Tony” also stars Karen David and Laura Aikman. Co-stars are Amrita Acharia (“Game of Thrones”), Meera Syal,

Lena Khan’s feature directorial debut has secured distribution. Deadline reports that Shout! Factory has acquired all of the North American rights to “The Tiger Hunter,” a timely comedy about a young immigrant’s life in the U.S.
Set in the 1970s, “The Tiger Hunter” follows Sami Malik (Danny Pudi, “Community”), a young Indian man who travels to to the U.S. with the hopes of becoming an an engineer, a job that will help him live up to the legacy of his father, who is a legendary tiger hunter, and impress his childhood crush. “When Sami’s job falls through, he takes a low-end job and joins with a gang of oddball friends in hopes of convincing his childhood sweetheart that he’s far more successful than he truly is … or perhaps ever could be,” the project’s logline reads.
The supporting cast includes Karen David (“Once Upon a Time”) Rizwan Manji (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), and Jon Heder (“Napoleon Dynamite”).
Khan co-wrote the script with Sameer Gardezi (“Mr. Sunshine,” “Aliens in America”). The film was produced by Khan, Megha Kadakia, and Nazia Khan.
“The Tiger Hunter” was partly “inspired both by my grandfather, who was a larger than life tiger hunter in India, and also from growing up hearing so much about what it was like for so many young immigrants like my father to come to America in the 1970s,” Khan has explained in an interview. “My dad, for example, once told me how he stole a stool sample from some Europeans in order to get an expedited Visa to America! And from there, I interviewed dozens of immigrants who came at the same time, and they had tons of heartfelt and hilarious stories that worked with the narrative I wanted to tell.” Since launching her career in the film industry, her goal has been “to make entertainment that calls attention to some of the more salient and overlooked social issues of our society.
Khan has previously directed three shorts: “A Land Called Paradise,” “The Sleeper Cell,” and “Circumstance.”

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 5 finally took us to Agrabah, for some Arabian nights and Savior revelations.
We discovered that there is a way to sever the Savior bond, using a tiny pair of shears, and that Aladdin used it. Emma sent Killian to get rid of the shears, but he instead hid them in his pocket.
Elsewhere in the hour, the Evil Queen convinced Zelena to showcase her wicked side again, and Emma confessed that her death is coming.
Did we love Aladdin? How long will Zelena stay wicked? Which character stole the show? Join TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Steve Ford, Robin Harry, and Caralynn Lippo, along with Once Upon a Fan's Teresa Martin, as they talk about “Street Rats!”
What are your thoughts on Aladdin?
Allison: I liked him. My favorite scene of his was the one between him and Emma in the crypt.
Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 4 gave us an ending to the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story, with both characters making an exit.
It was an episode filled with additional twists, as we learned that the only definite way to kill the Evil Queen is if Regina dies, leaving us wondering if this will play into Emma's vision from the Oracle. Could Regina be the hooded figure who kills the Savior?
Elsewhere, Mary Margaret went back to teaching, getting a little help from her new friend, Princess Jasmine. David shared some fatherly hesitation about Emma and Killian moving in together, and Belle found herself trapped on the Jolly Roger because of a spell, courtesy of Gold.
Are you Team Rumple or Team Belle? Will you miss Jekyll and Hyde? Is Killian and Belle's new bromance enjoyable?

That's right! On Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 5 we're finally going to spend some quality time with Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar!
After the initial tease of Agrabah on Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 1, many viewers were left wanting more – especially given Aladdin's Savior connection to Emma.
The photos below show just a few glimpses into Agrabah, the Evil Queen spending quality time with her sister, Zelena, and Emma, Regina, Henry and Hook in search of something.
The official synopsis from ABC for “Street Rats” reads as follows:
In a flashback to Agrabah, Princess Jasmine recruits Aladdin to help her recover a secret weapon capable of breaking Jafar’s hold on the Sultan and saving the city from ruin.
Their quest takes them to the Cave of Wonders where Aladdin’s fate is revealed. In Storybrooke, the Evil Queen tricks
It looks like we're going to meet our new favorite princess on Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 4, or at least we'll meet her Storybrooke alter-ego!
How do we know? Mary Margaret's new friend at school is played by Karen David, the same actress who'll be flying on magic carpets with Aladdin in the coming weeks!
Elsewhere in the episode, we'll see a flashback for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, one that unsurprisingly involves Rumplestitlskin, as the Evil Queen and Mr. Hyde continue their quest to steal the serum that threatens to destroy them forever.
The official episode description for "Strange Case" reads:
"The Evil Queen and Hyde continue on their quest to steal Dr. Jekyll’s serum; Snow looks forward to her first day back as a school teacher; and while Emma looks forward to Hook moving in with her, Hook finds himself

We might not have imagined a ship's captain entangling with a captain of a submarine, but we may have to rethink that scenario.
Faran Tahir will be coming aboard Once Upon a Time Season 6 as none other than Captain Nemo
According to EW, Tahir will play the "hardened leader of the Nautilus submarine, who’s a zealous believer in a cause that takes him from 20,000 leagues under the sea to the destiny that he won’t let anyone prevent him from achieving."
There really is not story that's off limits to step ashore at Storybrooke. Isn't it wonderful?
This season the entire show is opening up to the Land of Untold Stories, which goes beyond the fairytale characters with which we've become familiar.
It's a fairly unique concept
