As a visual artist, Jack presented seventeen one-man art exhibitions in New York, California, Arizona, and in the Midwest.
In 1982, Jack received the first BRAVO Award. "The event honors outstanding teachers in arts education
in the metropolitan Los Angeles area," the Los Angeles Times explained.
Jack and June McClain Memorial Scholarship established at Redondo Union High School (RUHS) in
Redondo Beach, California.
Jack was an Art teacher at Redondo Union High School for approximately (1955 - 1985) thirty years.
With his students, Jack created the 'Sea Hawk in Flight' sculpture which still adorns the school campus.
Also, they created the 'Remember to Remember' seascape outside of the RUHS auditorium.
In World War 2, Jack was a U.S. Navy radioman serving in both the European theater of operations, and
in the Pacific theater during the fight for Leyte Gulf in the Philippines..
