New One-Sheet for The Devils Hand

8 September 2014 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

A new one-sheet for Christian E. Christiansen's new demonic thriller 'The Devil's Hand' (previously known as 'Where the Devil Hides') has emerged. It's a tad uninspired I'm afraid to report and unfortunately has to rely on oversized text to give it some impact. It does however feature a number of the main cast members that includes Alycia Debnam Carey, Adelaide Kane (below) and Leah Pipes. Director Christiansen, who directed the Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly 'Single White Female' styled thriller 'The Roommate', helms from a script penned by Karl Mueller. Rufus Sewell, Thomas McDonell, Jim McKeny, Katie Garfield, Ric Reitz and former 'Dexter' actress Jennifer Carpenter also star. Check out the poster below. »

Why Almost Human is a geek treat

Feature Duncan Bowles 6 May 2014 - 07:00

Starting tonight in the UK on Watch, Jj Abrams' Almost Human promises proper sci-fi, RoboCop-style violence, a strong cast and more...

For those of you who are yet to partake in Almost Human, there’s a sizeable sci-fi treat in store. While the title implies a gentle approach to an existential dilemma, what the show actually delivers is ‘Sexbots and Robocops’ (which is certainly what I would’ve called it) and I mean that in the very best way. It’s a real delight to see a show that revels in its influences and immediately sets about purveying explosive action and its own take on the moral complications of trying to synthesise human beings.

With Watch airing the first season in the UK from tonight, Tuesday 6th May at 9pm (on Sky 109 and Virgin 124), let’s take a look at a few »

Almost Human: Cancelled by Fox, No Season Two

30 April 2014 12:36 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Fox has lowered the ax on Almost Human. The show has been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.

Taking place in the future, Almost Human follows the partnership of a distrustful cop (Karl Urban) and an android capable of emotion (Michael Ealy). The cast also includes Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby, and Lili Taylor.

The series started strongly in the ratings but the numbers declined over the course of the season. The season finale hit a series low with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.6 million total viewers.

Almost Human was reportedly still in the running for a second season until recently. Apparently several of Fox's new pilots are strong contenders for next season so network execs have decided to let Almost Human go.

'Almost Human' Cancelled By Fox After One Season

29 April 2014 9:00 PM, PDT | Uinterview | See recent Uinterview news »

Almost Human has been cancelled by Fox and fans of the science fiction series have already begun campaigning in an effort to bring the show back to life.

Almost Human Cancelled After One Season

Almost Human premiered in November and ended its first season on March 3. It’s short 13-episode season ended on a low, with only 5.6 million viewers and a 1.5 in demo rating, but the freshman show was far from the worst rated new series of the year. For example, Fox’s controversial new sitcom Dads ended its first season with a dismal 2.6 million viewers in February – Dads, Enlisted and Surviving Jack are the three shows on Fox’s lineup that have yet to be cancelled or renewed.

Almost Human began with a lot of buzz and goodwill from sci-fi fans. Created by Fringe writer and executive producer J.H. Wyman and backed by executive producer J.J. Abrams, Almost Human »

Fox cancels 'Almost Human' after one season

29 April 2014 8:02 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

It will be 13-episodes-and-out for the Fox robot procedural "Almost Human." News of the "Almost Human" cancellation first broke on Tuesday (April 29) evening on Deadline.com and HitFix can now confirm that the J.J. Abrams-produced drama will not be back next season, a victim either of lackluster ratings or of Fox's already-aggressive plans for next season. Fox got "Almost Human" off to a bumpy start when it delayed its early November premiere just two weeks before launch, though a special Sunday airing helped get a sampling of 9 million-plus viewers. Despite occasional preemptions and an erratic air schedule in December and January, "Almost Human" averaged a very respectable 6.2 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 for its season, along with a solid DVR bump. Although the "Almost Human" numbers were flagging a little toward the end, it still did a 1.5 key demo rating for its finale in March, identical »
