‘Rick and Morty’ Cast, Co-Creator Dan Harmon Improvise Mini-Episode — Watch

10 August 2016 9:19 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s animated sci-fi series “Rick and Morty” follows the high-concept adventures of an alcoholic genius scientist, Rick, and his naïve, nebbishy grandson, Morty (both voiced by Roiland). The series has garnered widespread critical acclaim for its madcap imagination, dark humor, and its existentialist perspective. Aside from their series, the “Rick and Morty” team also excel at improvisation, evidenced by Roiland and Harmon’s respective podcasts – “The Grandma’s Virginity Podcast” and “Harmontown” – and the cast’s improv backgrounds. Now, Roiland, Harmon, Spencer Grammer, who plays Morty’s older sister Summer, and writer Ryan Ridley improvise a mini-episode of the series for New York Magazine. Watch it below.

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 7 – Access Denied Review

4 August 2016 2:15 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Minecraft: Story Mode became Telltale’s longest-running individual “season” with its previous episode, but only now can we say that the dimension-hopping adventures of Jesse and friends are winding down. The seventh installment, Access Denied, doesn’t actually do much to reflect this until its last scene, though, as it sticks to the formula Episode 5 started of having more self-contained plots than the company’s usual fare.

As past reviews indicate, my reactions to this change in format have been a bit varied. The fifth episode ended up being one of the more entertaining episodes of the series, but the previous installment, which relied a bit too much on YouTube celebrity cameos and not enough on an engaging story, ended up being one of the weakest. As it turns out, Access Denied feels right in the middle of those two quality-wise. While it comes up short in some areas, it succeeds in others, »

Emily S. Whitten: American Gods In Your Home?

2 August 2016 3:00 PM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

When I heard that Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel American Gods was being made into a TV series, I was super-interested. I’ve been a fan of American Gods (and Neil’s body of work oh, generally speaking, for many years and even had the privilege of bringing Neil and the book to The National Press Club in D.C. during its limited Tenth Anniversary Tour. And although the novel is such an epic that I had a bit of trouble picturing how the adaptation would work, I’ve always wanted to see what it would be like on screen.

As the news started filtering in about who would be running the show, writing the show, and playing all the parts, I got more and more excited. And now that I’ve been to the Sdcc booth experience (which was appropriately otherworldly and included some cool swag!), attended the panel »

Once Upon a Time's cast and creators took to Comic-Con to present new details about season six (Aladdin is coming!) and tease what's coming up next for our favorite characters. At one point during the panel, creator Adam Horowitz teased a little morsel that moderator Yvette Nicole Brown told audiences to remember: "Everything that was said about the Olympian Crystal was said by Hades . . . so he's the God of the Underworld, so can we trust him? I would say in all seriousness, that's a question that I think some of our characters should and will ask . . . I would choose not to believe Hades, but we'll find out." Later during press interviews, the creators clarified what they meant. "What we were talking about, to be perfectly clear, isn't that Robin's not dead," said Horowitz. "It's that Hades said he obliterated Robin's soul, and for us, our attitude is, well, you know, »
