Finales – or endings, really – and American Horror Story don’t typically get on. Tying everything up has proved a problem for a show populated by an abundance of complicated characters and storylines. Even the respective conclusions of the show’s strongest outings were lacking in one area or another, with later runs like Freak Show and Hotel bowing out on final instalments that were confused to say the least.

So, it’s a bittersweet moment. American Horror Story: Roanoke has been a tremendous return to »

Now executive producer Ryan Murphy reveals that Lana Winters — from Season 2’s “Asylum” — will make an appearance on this season’s “Roanoke.”

He tweeted: “Sarah Paulson’s ‘Asylum’ ultimate survivor Lana Winters returns this season on ‘Ahs: Roanoke.’ Happy Halloween.”

These crossovers are becoming more common: Paulson, who has appeared on every season of “American Horror Story” (and has famously survived each), also recently reprised her role from “Murder House” (psychic Billie Dean Howard), in last season’s “American Horror Story: Hotel.”

Gabourey Sidibe’s fan favorite Queenie, also starred on “Coven,” made an appearance on “Hotel” as well — though it »

Golden Globes 2016: The Ultimate Party Guide

4 January 2016 11:47 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

While this awards season’s front-runners are less concrete, the week-long roster of ritualistic parties leading up to the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday will follow a tried-and-true formula — with a few exceptions.

Audi and W Magazine will join revelry forces, rather than throwing rival cocktail bashes on Thursday; Art for Amnesty joins the party with a first-time brunch fostering free speech on Friday; Showtime will be celebrating solo, rather than teaming up with partners CBS and the CW; and Amazon — which landed its first Golden Globe last year, and has both winner “Transparent” and newcomer “Mozart in the Jungle” in the running this year — will throw an inaugural post-Globes celebration (having gained some practice, with its first-time Emmy bash last fall). The move seems fitting, in a year when digital (namely, Netflix) surpasses networks with the most nominations, breaking HBO’s 14-year streak of domination and leading the TV race. »
