The Wolverine Makes his Point on EW’s Latest Cover

2 hours ago | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

In lieu of actual movie news (short on that today, alas), here’s the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly featuring a buff Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. You gotta wonder how much longer he can continue playing the mutant who never ages. Jackman is already 44, and although dude is in ridiculously good shape, if he can get another “Wolverine” movie made in, say, a few years, he’d be well into his late ’40s. Then what? A reboot, obviously. Don’t be surprise when you start hearing sites getting “exclusives” about a “Wolverine” reboot in, say, 3-4 years from now. You heard it here first! Until then, here’s the cover. And in case you missed it, here’s the latest trailer for the movie: “The Wolverine” stars Hugh Jackman, Brian Tee, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Rila Fukushima, James Fraser, Tao Okamoto, Hal Yamanouchi, and is directed by James Mangold. »

Hugh Jackman: 'The Wolverine is a little different to X-Men'

3 hours ago | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Hugh Jackman has promised something "a little different" from The Wolverine.

The star said that the tone of the upcoming movie is not like his past X-Men outings.

"[Wolverine's] sort of interested in [the offer of mortality], because if your life is not great and there is a lot of regret and pain, would it be great to live on and on?" he told CNN.

"Yes, [The Wolverine] is a character piece, and I would say it may be a little darker in tone than the others, and it certainly feels a little different, [but] it's just as much fun. The action in this is probably more inventive than we've ever had before."

Jackman revealed that he sought advice from his friend Dwayne Johnson - aka The Rock - when approaching his exercise and diet regime for the movie.

Every once in a while, a film comes along and knocks it out the park with a brilliant marketing campaign that really goes the extra mile. James Mangold’s The Wolverine has definitely been one of those films, and a pretty big part of that is down to the awesome ink posters that we’ve been seeing.

New 'Wolverine' trailer: Another deep dive

21 May 2013 1:03 PM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

“Eternity can be a curse. A franchise can run out of things to do.” That’s paraphrasing a line in the new trailer for The Wolverine, a.k.a. The Bad News Mutants Go to Japan. Between this and X-Men: Days of Future Past, Hugh Jackman will be snikt-ing out the adamantium digits for both a reboot of a spinoff of a threequel and a sequel to a prequel to said threequel. Is it any wonder the main theme of James Mangold’s film seems to be the painful burden of going on forever and ever without end? The first »

'The Wolverine' trailer: Hugh Jackman is haunted by Famke Janssen

21 May 2013 9:48 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Hugh Jackman is facing a whole new set of problems in the trailer for the upcoming comic book film, "The Wolverine." In addition to being tormented by the ghost of Jean Grey (former "X-Men" actress Famke Janssen), Wolverine is now newly mortal and targeted by a new batch of Japanese enemies.

Clearly the money shot in the trailer is Wolverine's showdown with the Silver Samurai, which was previously teased in the movie's CinemaCon footage. The character, who is being portrayed by Will Yun Lee, is a fan-favorite mutant who can charge any object around him with mutant energy. He's the perfect foe for Wolverine because his katana can cut through everything except for adamantium, the metal that lines Wolverine's bones and makes up his claws.
