Exclusive: NBC is taking a second stab at developing a comedy series based on Life As I Blow It, the book by Chelsea Lately and After Lately writer-panelist Sarah Colonna. Denise Moss (Hackett) has been brought in to write/executive produce the project, originally developed last year with Colonna writing and Danielle Sanchez supervising. Colonna will now co-write the story with Moss, who will write the script. Happy Madison and Sony TV are back producing. Life As I Blow It will focus on the relationship of Colonna and her sister, who are brought together when Colonna loses her job and has to return to Arkansas where her sister’s life is also unraveling. Exclusive: In his first development cycle at CBS TV Studios, My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope creator Greg Garcia has set up two half-hour projects at CBS: a single-camera comedy, which he is writing, and a hybrid one to be written by Danielle Sanchez-Witzel. Details about Garcia’s own project are being kept under wraps but it is said to be very much in the style of Garcia’s previous shows, combining quirky comedy, original characters, relatable themes and a lot of heart. 18 April 2012 3:54 PM, PDT | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Exclusive: Comedy writer-producer Danielle Sanchez-Witzel has signed a two-year overall deal with CBS TV Studios. I hear the pact is purely for development, though Sanchez-Witzel could consult on CBS Studios series part-time. She will have an office on the Radford lot. This marks a change of scenery for Sanchez-Witzel, who spent the last nine years at NBC. Sanchez-Witzel came out of NBC’s diversity writing program, becoming one of the program’s biggest success stories. She is coming off two back-to-back two-year overall deals at NBC’s sister studio Universal TV. Under the pacts, she worked on several series, including a stint as a co-executive producer on the NBC/20th TV comedy My Name Is Earl and most recently as a consultant on the NBC/Uni TV freshman comedy Whitney this season. She is with UTA and attorney Karl Austen. »
