7 September 2013 11:36 AM, PDT | National Ledger | See recent National Ledger news »

Liam Payne is being dubbed a hero after a scary situation developed at his home earlier this week. The One Direction star's home caught fire after an explosion and Liam' s quick thinking helped save his best friend's life. The One Direction star's swift action helped save Andy Samuel - who grew up with Liam in Wolverhampton, England, - as he ''beat out the flames'' and ''doused him with water'' following a fire at the hunk's London flat which was caused by a patio heater exploding on Monday night. Andy's stepdad Matthew Baker is thankful for the singer's efforts and he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''We are so grateful to Liam because he saved his life. ''The lantern just exploded as Andy was lighting it and it took the full force of the flames. Liam helped him by beating out the flames and dousing him with water. He acted quickly and swiftly. »

Try Your Best to Follow the 'Star Wars Family Tree'

22 February 2013 12:02 PM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Man, where the hell is Ancestry.com when you need it?

Due to certain, um, revelations in "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" vis-à-vis Vader = Father/Leia = Sister, the genealogy of "Star Wars" can be a bit tricksy, which is why a handy infographic was in order.

Matt Baker at Chart Geek has crafted said family tree, which breaks down the twisty-turny familial legacy of the Skywalker clan, from being conceived by those damned midi-chlorians (which conspiracy nerds believe points to the evil Palpatine being Anakin's paterfamilias), straight through to expanded universe offspring like the Solo twins.

Don't expect any of those sons and daughters from the novels to wind their way into "Episode VII," though, at least if screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has anything to say about it.

"I'm trying to start fresh," Kasdan told Hero Complex, quashing any hope of expanded universe nonsense winding up onscreen. »
