‘Haunting of Crestview High’ DVD Review

Stars: Cameron Deane Stewart, Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Amanda Alch, Marc Donato, Augie Duke, Roger Edwards, Ali Faulkner, Jeffrey Schmidt | Written by Matthew Spradlin, Barry Wernick | Directed by Matthew Spradlin

Originally conceived some eight years ago by Matthew Spradlin, Bad Kids Go To Hell (the movie’s original title) originally debuted as a four issue comic mini-series from Antarctic Press in 2009. Fast forward to 2014 and the film, now re-titled Haunting of Crestview High silently hits the UK market courtesy of 101 Films, without all the hype that surrounded the 2012 Us release – which may not actually be a bad thing.

Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the film but I don’t think it ever lives up to the hype that surrounded its original Us release – which is maybe why the films UK debut took a couple of years – but as a fan of the John Hughes canon of films

Bad Kids Go to Hell and Some Stay in Limbo: A Movie Review

Director: Matthew Spradlin. Writers: Matthew Spradlin and Barry Wernick. Cast: Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Amanda Alch, Marc Donato, Augie Duke, Roger Edwards, Ali Faulkner, Cameron Deane Stewart, Jeffrey Schmidt and Chanel Ryan. Bad Kids Go to Hell has undergone a few transformations. Originally, this piece was a script and then a graphic novel. Over the course of six years, Bad Kids Go to Hell made its way into a cinematic form. And, Matthew Spradlin's first movie as director introduces a lot of conflict, a few comedic moments and perhaps, too much conniving. This title pays homage to a few classics, mostly The Breakfast Club and Carrie. Sadly, Bad Kids Go to Hell is only occasionally entertaining. The film begins as an homage to 1985's The Breakfast Club. Six students are locked into the school's library to serve a Saturday detention. The jock, the nerd, the goth, the princess and

Exclusive: Judd Nelson Honors The Breakfast Club with Bad Kids Go to Hell
Judd Nelson talks about portraying the authoritative Headmaster Nash in Bad Kids Go to Hell, debuting in theaters December 7

It's been nearly 30 years since the 1984 classic The Breakfast Club found The Brat Pack stuck in detention. This weekend, John Bender himself, Judd Nelson, hands out the punishment as Headmaster Nash in Bad Kids Go to Hell, arriving in theaters December 7.

Director Matthew Spradlin's horror comedy is set at the elite Crestview Academy prep school, where six kids from vastly different backgrounds are forced to spend their Saturday in detention. The plot thickens in devious ways when these kids are killed one by one, making them believe that this library may be haunted after all. I recently had the chance to speak with Judd Nelson about this indie comedy. Here's what he had to say.

I read that you attended a prep school yourself. Obviously it was a much different time,

What’s Going On In This Bad Kids Go To Hell Trailer?!

Ok, so I’m not totally sure what to make of this Bad Kids Go To Hell movie just yet. We were sent the trailer via email; its got a catchy title, but is it horror? Do I post about it on the site? Or throw it under the “Beyond Fright” banner? At first glance of the following trailer, it looks like the filmmaker’s are attempting to do a modern day version of The Breakfast Club; hell they even have Judd Nelson in there in one of the adult roles. But then it looks like it takes a rather dark turn. Did they conjure up a nasty entity? Or is one of them killing the rest? Regardless, I’m not sure how to classify this flick but the press release under this video calls it The Grudge meets The Breakfast Club. So I figured it warranted a view. Check

The After Dinner Club? Watch ‘Bad Kids Go To Hell’ Trailer

Here’s the theatrical trailer for The Breakfast Club with a horror twist Bad Kids Go To Hell. The film sees a group of rich and spoiled teenagers serving out their detention on a rainy Saturday afternoon. But rather than getting to know each other with all the fun of the 1980s, these guys find themselves falling victim to a number of mysterious accidents. Even Breakfast Clubber Judd Nelson appears as the school’s Headmaster. The trailer looks like a bit of fun, but I’m not expecting too much. However, I do think we need to start considering some other horror spins on classic comedies. How about Home Alone…With The Devil, Sixteen Candles…Of Death, or even Ferris Bueller’s Day Off…From The Bouncy Castle Testing Facility. Oh the humanity!

Bad Kids Go To Hell is released 7th December 2012. It stars Judd Nelson, Ben Browder, Cameron Deane Stewart,
