- He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London, in the same class as Laurence Fox and Leo Bill. He was selected to appear on RADA's "100 Faces of RADA", among such other honorees as including Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir Richard Attenborough.

- In 2004 O-T won a M.E.N Theatre Award for best actor in a leading role for his portrayal of Paul Poitier in '6 Degrees of Separation' at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
- Originated the role of "Sportin Life" in the classic musical Porgy and Bess on London's West End.
- Older brother of Luti Fagbenle.
- O-T led the National Theatres production of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom to an Olivier Award.
