'Ted 2' Adds Amanda Seyfried

24 February 2014 11:46 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Amanda Seyfried is set to reunite with her A Million Ways to Die in the West director/co-star Seth MacFarlane for the Universal Pictures comedy sequel Ted 2. No character details were given, but the actress is said to be playing the female lead.

Mark Wahlberg is reprising his Ted role as John Bennett, a grown man who lives with his foul-mouthed teddy bear that came to life when he was a child. Mila Kunis, who played John's girlfriend Lori Collins in the original, is said to be returning in a tiny role, that may end up being cut from the film. The decision to give Mila Kunis a lesser role comes strictly from a creative standpoint, and not any animosity between Seth MacFarlane and the actress, who still voices Meg on his Fox animated TV series Family Guy.

Amanda Seyfried Set as Female Lead in Ted Sequel; Mila Kunis to Have Reduced Role in Follow-Up

24 February 2014 11:37 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Now that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is putting the finishing touches on his second directorial feature, A Million Ways to Die in the West, he’s starting to put the pieces together for the Ted sequel—and a casting shakeup is in the works.  Deadline reports that Amanda Seyfried is set to play the female lead in Ted 2, with Mila Kunis only expected to reprise her role as Lori in a “tiny appearance”, if at all.  This is due to a creative decision on behalf of MacFarlane and co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild and not some falling out between MacFarlane and Kunis, so it sounds like Mark Wahlberg’s John will likely be getting a new love interest in the follow-up. Though Seyfried has been doing more dramatic or genre-oriented work in the past few years, fans of Mean Girls will remember she’s also a pretty skilled comedic actress. »

Ted Returns in Super Bowl TV Spot for Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West

3 February 2014 12:59 PM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Easy one of our most anticipated films of the year, Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West kicked things off brilliantly with its red-band first trailer at the end of last week.

Needless to say, the content wasn’t exactly suitable for a show like the Super Bowl, so Universal launched a green-band trailer over the weekend, bringing back MacFarlane’s creation, Ted, for the Big Game Spot.

After cowardly Albert backs out of a gunfight because he’s never fired his gun, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man — the proprietor of the town’s foremost moustache emporium. When he accidentally saves the life of a mysterious and beautiful woman, she helps him find his courage and learn to stand up for himself. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge the sheep farmer must triumph over all of the hilariously awful »

A Million Ways To Die In The West Greenband Trailer Follows On Heels Of Extended Redband

3 February 2014 11:42 AM, PST | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

Seth MacFarlane makes his way in front of the camera for his next big venture, and though the general air of offensiveness doesn’t seem quite up to the level set by Ted, this star-studded comedy still looks to be full of MacFarlane’s… charm.

A Million Ways to Die in the West has more big names than you know what to do with, which is a strong indication that there a lot of MacFarlane fans out there. Much like most of MacFarlane’s work, it looks like the film tries its hand at a wide variety of comedy stylings, some look pretty funny, some are perhaps hoping to milk more than is possible out of screwball situations.

At any rate, the film quickly followed  the release of the Redband trailer with one that is safe to show without an age-gate. The differences probably tell you a lot about the final film actually, »

Tame Comedy in Green Band 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' Trailer

3 February 2014 10:58 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

The red band trailer for Seth MacFarlane's western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West already showed off its raunchier side, but now a green band trailer shows that it's not all blood, swearing and vulgar sex jokes. MacFarlane is no stranger to censoring himself with a career that started out on network television, but it's nice to see that he still has some solid writing that works for all audiences as well. The trailer is mostly the same as the red band, but cuts out some of the R-rated swearing. However, there are some solid new jokes with Sarah Silverman and Charlize Theron worth checking out. Watch! First Look: Charlize Theron Fires in 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'

24 January 2014 9:45 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

We've already seen one photo from Seth MacFarlane's western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, but we're still waiting for some sort of teaser trailer. In the meantime, we have a new photo from the film featuring Charlize Theron looking like wild west bad ass as she wields two pistols. Neil Patrick Harris, Amanda Seyfried and MacFarlane himself look off-screen, likely in awe at Theron's gunslinger talents. Seyfried looks a little more concerned than impressed though, so maybe Theron has just shot someone? Since this is a comedy, we won't know what we're dealing with until we get a trailer so stay tuned. Here's the new photo from Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West from Universal: A Million Ways to Die in the West is directed by Seth MacFarlane and written by "Family Guy" collaborators and Ted co-writers Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin. »

First-Look Image: Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West

2 January 2014 1:52 PM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

In the past few days, we’ve had some great first-look images, including Ben Affleck in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and Christian Bale in Ridley Scott’s Exodus, and now it’s time for our first look at Seth MacFarlane’s anticipated A Million Ways to Die in the West.

The Western-comedy marks MacFarlane’s sophomore feature, and given the ingenuity of his directorial debut, Ted, it’s understandable that the film is one we’re most looking forward to this year.

With less than half a year on the clock before it hits cinemas, Universal has released the first image from the film, and here’s to hoping that the first trailer won’t be too far behind.

A Million Ways to Die in the West follows a cowardly sheep farmer (MacFarlane) who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend (Seyfried) leave him for another man. »

'A Million Ways to Die In the West': First Look At Seth MacFarlane's Western-Comedy (Photo)

2 January 2014 5:00 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

The western genre has always been ripe for a good spoofing. From "Blazing Saddles" to "Back to the Future, Part III" to "Django Unchained," oaters have been wonderfully subverted, deconstructed, and pushed into bold new territories. The newest stranger to ride into town with an agenda to take its six shooters to the western genre is "A Million Ways to Die in the West," the latest ribald confection from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane. And now the first photo from the film has debuted. Yee-haw!

"A Million Ways to Die" concerns a cowardly sheep farmer (played by MacFarlane) who falls in love with a comely lass (Charlize Theron), who teaches him how to be brave. This bravery comes in handy when he is forced to duel with the lady's husband (Liam Neeson), a deadly criminal hell bent on revenge. The movie was co-written by regular MacFarlane collaborators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, »

Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West Fires Off First Photo

1 January 2014 8:53 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Though Seth MacFarlane, the hugely successful comedian behind Family Guy and Ted, definitely has his fair share of detractors (his “We Saw Your Boobs” gag at this year’s Oscar ceremony proved a particular divisive moment for audiences), enough people enjoy his raunchy style of humor that his projects are usually pretty big news. His upcoming comedy Western, A Million Ways to Die in the West, which MacFarlane directed, wrote and stars in, is certainly no exception.

The first official image from the film hit the web today, and while it doesn’t reveal much about the film’s plot, the shot does serve to remind us that a considerable amount of big-name stars are involved in MacFarlane’s latest big-screen gamble.

The brief plot synopsis we have for A Million Ways to Die in the West provides a pretty major clue as to what’s going on the above »
