Donovan said The Beatles‘ “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” was like a painting or a movie. In addition, he compared it to one of his own tracks. Notably, Donovan’s song was a bigger hit than the Fab Four’s.

During a 2016 interview with Songfacts, Donovan was asked where the imagery from his trippy track “Wear Your Love Like Heaven” originated. He responded by comparing it to The Beatles’ “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”
“You’d just have to think of John’s ‘Picture yourself on a boat on a river’ — you’re actually in a movie or you’re in a painting,” Donovan said. “‘Tangerine trees and marmalade skies’ — he’s painting. So, ‘Wear Your Love Like Heaven’ was really a paint-ily song — watching a sunset go down.

Throughout Xbox's 21 years on the market, it's unleashed some fantastic franchises that are favorites among players, with a few having upcoming sequels expected to release in the future. It's also important to remember that sales numbers for Xbox franchises can be a little misleading since players can subscribe to Game Pass and play many of the console's biggest titles without technically buying a copy.
In the 9th generation, the Xbox X/S has been on a roll, selling quicker than any previous Microsoft console. It's estimated the X/S has already sold over 17.5 million consoles (via Vg Chartz), and with the holiday season just around the corner, sales are only going to boom even further, meaning Xbox's biggest franchises may get bigger.

The acclaimed Microsoft Flight Simulator series finally came to the Xbox in 2020, showing off the power of their new next-gen X/S consoles.

It’s so, so very difficult to determine how long to stick with a series. Some shows get off to a bad start and later find their voice. Others start bad and get worse. Still others are sporadic in quality, for whatever creative reason.
But the list below is meant to help. Whether you’re looking for a new binge and want to know when a season will hit its peak, or you want to sample shows by seeing the best episode first, check out IndieWire’s ranking of the best TV episodes of 2017.
We don’t necessarily endorse starting with the best episodes — especially if it happens to be the season finale — but in a world of “too much TV,” there’s no wrong way to find the next great show. Ranked by episodic quality, these are the 25 best individual half-hours and hour-long entries of the 2017 season.

As far as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 casting decisions go, this one’s a banger. The former Hannah Montana, now twerk-happy, perpetually stoned, Flaming Lips collaborator, Miley Cyrus, has been confirmed to make an appearance in the oncoming blockbuster. It’s an eyebrow-raiser, to be sure, but this is James Gunn’s style, and he’s always talked about cameos in the franchise, with none other than David Bowie being considered at one point (his untimely death put the kibosh on that).
Miley Cyrus is no Bowie, of course, but it’s still the kind of “….that might actually work” risk that’s propelled the Guardians of the Galaxy from superhero D-Listers right to the top of the Marvel comics pile. The news was confirmed by lifestyle blogger Sarah Ruhlman, reporting from a live event to promote the film. She also let us know which character Cyrus is playing,...

Remember the first time you heard a band that didn't cop to anyone else's style or music vibe before? I can namecheck Patti Smith and the Talking Heads as bands that made that immediate impact on my ears and brain. Couldn't shake them out of my brain. Well, it's happened again. Heard a song on random shuffle on a Spotify playlist and bam!... I was hooked. Beauty Pill's tune "Afrikaner Barista" got lodged in my cranium and simply couldn't shake it loose. Nor did I want to. In a new interview with The Guardian, the 55-year-old musician opened up about how his relationship with Cyrus has um, evolved, since the two first connected over Twitter in 2014, when she wished him a happy birthday.

Jimmy Fallon capitalized on the "Mannequin Challenge" craze during Tuesday's Tonight Show by recruiting Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne, Queen Latifah and Fred Armisen for a wacky version of Charades. The game, "Humannequins," found two duos – Armisen and Coyne versus Fallon and Latifah – bending rival participants into poses as their teammates scrambled to guess the topics.
The bit began seamlessly, with Fallon and Latifah correctly selecting "Jaws." But things got a tad risqué with the topic "Riding a Motorcycle," as Armisen maneuvered Fallon into an awkward position straddling Latifah.

The film is the second collaboration between Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg to hit theaters this year, following “Deepwater Horizon in September. Along with “Lone Survivor,” the duo have become Hollywood’s go-to source for true stories of American heroism, and “Patriots Day” certainly continues the trend.

Three week after the debut of The Flaming Lips’ music video for “Castle,” the rock band shared their latest clip for their second single, “How??”
The five-minute video is just as psychedelic and bizarre as expected, filled with lush and vibrant colors. “How??” was filmed in Oklahoma City, frontman Wayne Coyne’s hometown, and begins with the singer and two women cruising down a street on stuffed animal-covered mopeds. They arrive to an abandoned warehouse where the ladies start firing Roman candles at one another, while Coyne, dressed in a colorful fur coat, sings from a hanging chair.

In case you didn’t know Shia Labeouf can rap. No, it’s true. The “American Honey” actor surprised people at SiriusXM Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning” when he freestyle rapped during the show’s “Five Fingers of Death” segment.
The challenge determines an individual’s freestyling abilities over five different beats and surprisingly, Labeouf impressed everyone with his performance.
In the video below, the actor is heard rapping about his Missy Elliott tattoos and Dr. Dre. He also calls himself the Einstein of rhyming and the “Jewish Pac to this music with a twist of Whitman.” At the end of his rap, host Sway Calloway gets pumped up and yells, “Did you see that? This is what we’ve been talking about.”

Last week BBC’s acclaimed nature show “Planet Earth II” debuted and set the internet ablaze with the baby iguana and racer snake video. This week, ahead of episode 2, the British network released a new clip in which grizzly bears shake and shimmy to the tunes of Kool & The Gang’s hit “Jungle Boogie.”
Remote cameras were left in the Canadian Rockies in hopes to film grizzly bears in their natural habitat. What they got when they looked at the footage was more than they bargained for.
The second episode in the six-part series will focus on great mountain ranges, which are some of the planet’s most spectacular landscapes, but are also unforgiving places to live in. Only a few animals have what it takes to live at extreme altitude, and the upcoming episode will show a unique and intimate glimpse into the magnificent animals’ secretive lives.

If you’ve endlessly rewatched the films of David Lynch and are looking to appreciate his work in a new way, John Malkovich is here to help. In a new inventive video series/short film titled Psychogenic Fugue, the actor embodies not only the director, but seven of his most iconic characters, from John Merrick to Frank Booth to Log Lady and more.
While some may think this would come from the mind of Spike Jonze as some sort of spin-off to his 1999 feature, the project is actually directed by Sandro Miller and created for David Lynch Foundation. You’ll have to head over to the official site to see the full film (featuring new music from Angelo Badalamenti, Lykke Li, The Flaming Lips, among others) via a donation, but as a preview, we have a trailer and Twin Peaks-inspired clip. But the day of the announcement, Bowie died at age 69 and the concert was quickly recast as a celebration of a musical life cut short. The timing, said Dorf, of City Winery, led to an outpouring of "fellow artists wanting to show their respect and...
