Jennifer Jones' Auction to Include Golden Globe, Screenplays, Rare Photos, Scrapbooks

  Jennifer Jones, the Oscar-winning actress and widow of both Gone with the Wind producer David O. Selznick and industrialist Norton Simon, will have a number of her belongings auctioned. Jones, who died last year at the age of 90, was best known for her varied roles in old Hollywood blockbusters, chiefly St. Bernadette in Henry King's The Song of Bernadette (1943); the sultry half-breed Pearl Chavez in King Vidor's Duel in the Sun (1946); and the Eurasian doctor in love with journalist William Holden in another Henry King effort, the tearjerker Love is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955). Though less widely known, Jones was also chairwoman of the Norton Simon Foundation Board, a position she held for years following Simon's death in 1993.
