McM Round-Up: Day 2 – The Panels

27 May 2012 1:23 PM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Yesterday saw Blogomatic3000′s second day at the McM Expo London Comic Con and the day was a mixed bag… Beginning with a walk round the show floor (check out the video below) our first panel of the day was for the new Nickelodeon iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with co-creator Kevin Eastman and Rich Magallanes the Senior VP, Current Series, for Nickelodeon.

There were a lot of details kept under wraps for obvious reasons, but what we did see has me super-excited for the new series. With the Turtles given a makeover to make each one stand-out from the other and the “teenage brother” aspect of the concept heightened, Splinter made slightly younger, Shredder made even more evil, Krang more like the comic iteration and now The Krang – an entire race of robots with squishy brain creatures in their bellies, and April O’Neil made younger – aged »

Dark and Creepy Things are Lurking Within Johannes Roberts’ Storage 24

21 May 2012 5:49 PM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Separating your possessions after a break-up is always difficult and uncomfortable, especially when there’s some sort of blood-thirsty creature roaming the corridors of your storage unit. Director Johannes Roberts’ forthcoming horror flick “Storage 24″ takes that scenario and dumps it inside London after a particularly devastating airplane crash. As it turns out, there was something nasty in the cargo hold, and it’s using the city as a veritable all-you-can-eat buffet. Check out the official plot synopsis: London is in chaos. A military cargo plane has crashed, leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. Completely unaware London is in lock down, Charlie and Shelley are at Storage 24, dividing up their possessions after a recent break-up. Caught in a dark maze of endless corridors, they find themselves being hunted down one after the other by a mysterious predator. In a place designed to keep things in, how do you get out? »

20 May 2012 3:49 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

One thing's for sure - they never found anything like this in the hit TV series "Storage Wars" although we're fairly certain that if they did, Darrell Sheets would proclaim it to be a thirty dollar bill all day and then eventually get outbid by Dave Hester. Yup!

In any event, Variety reports that London-based international sales agent Independent has closed multiple deals on helmer Johannes Roberts' horror sci-fi Storage 24.

The film, which stars Noel Clarke, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, and Laura Haddock, sold to Klockworx in Japan, Focus & Co. in South Korea, Ipa in Thailand and Vietnam, Lark Films in Hong Kong, Bier Film in Turkey, and Weg in India.

The film pre-sold before Cannes to Universal for the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, German-speaking Europe, Scandinavia and Benelux. The story, written by Clarke, Davie Fairbanks and Marc Small, is set in London after a military cargo plane has crashed, »

Universal and Unstoppable Entertainment have revealed the first look trailer for the new Johannes Roberts ('F') helmed Brit sci-fi horror 'Storage 24'. The movie penned by writer and star Noel Clarke ('Kidulthood', 'Doghouse') is set in a storage building when a military cargo plane crashes and unleashes its classified contents into London. First trailer for Storage 24

11 April 2012 11:41 PM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

A cocktail of science fiction and horror awaits, in the upcoming Storage 24. Here’s the first trailer…

This one’s a project quite prominent on our radar. Directed by Johannes Roberts, who was behind the impressive and underrated F, Storage 24 is one of at least three films this year that Noel Clarke has worked on the screenplay for (Fast Girls and The Knot being the others, with his Mma movie in the works, too).

Clarke stars, too, in this sci-fi horror, which arrives in the UK at the end of June. And the first trailer for the film is right here…

First Trailer and Images for Noel Clarke’s Storage 24 Appears

11 April 2012 11:06 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

We recently saw writer/director Noel Clarke in the trailer for Fast Girls and now we have another first look at one of his 2012 projects.

Storage 24 has Clarke leading a group of friends out of a locked storage facility after a crashed plane unleashes something that was meant to stay hidden, and we get a few glimpses of the creature in this new trailer.

Seemingly happy to leap genres in a single bound Clarke is taking the lead in what looks like a full-on horror movie and the film’s director Johannes Roberts has already more than dipped his toes in the genre with the ‘Hoodie Horror’ F making the rounds a couple of years ago. The film hits UK cinemas on the 29th of June and here’s a handy synopsis,

London is in chaos. A military cargo plane has crashed leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. »

52 films unfairly rated lower than 6 stars on the IMDb

23 February 2012 4:12 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Democracy is a flawed concept. Here are 50 films that the IMDb voters would unfairly have you believe are worth no more than 5.9/10…

Six out of ten isn’t a very good score, really. It’s barely over half marks. 60 per cent. It’s alright, but it’s not great. You wouldn’t be proud of getting six out of ten on most kinds of tests, would you? So you might assume that any film that scores under six stars out of ten on the IMDb isn’t very good – possibly even terrible.

But that’s not always the case. Averages don’t tell the whole story; anything that’s potentially controversial or divisive will end up with a score that suggests most people weren’t that bothered about it, since high and low scores will be averaged – and IMDb users often exaggerate their scores anyway, giving a film one star »
