Justice may be blind, but tomorrow it becomes unbreakable. On the eve of the show’s premiere, Marvel and Netflix have pulled back the curtain on the suitably stylish opening credits for Luke Cage, the third of four superhero standalone series that will culminate with the advent of The Defenders.

Speaking of which, as revealed by TheWrap, it seems Simone Missick – on board to play Misty Knight opposite Mike Colter’s hulking Power Man – will have a small role in Marvel’s 2017 ensemble series. Said she: “I believe I’m safe to say that I will be on ‘The Defenders. Spoiler alert! If I lose my job because of this interview, sorry! I was supposed to be on ‘The Defenders,’ until I got fired.”

She isn’t the only one to be linked; both Foggy Nelson and Jon Bernthal »

The Accountant Images Oddly More Revealing Than Trailer

29 September 2016 5:52 AM, PDT | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

The Accountant is one of the most anticipated upcoming movies, but it isn’t revealing a lot of details, even in the trailer. The film has finally released a large set of images, and while it isn’t really the norm, you can get quite a bit more detail from them, including a look at a lot more characters and the situations Affleck’s character finds himself in.

We’ve got the basic idea that Christian (Ben Affleck) is a math genius who has some criminal clients and that he takes on a legitimate client to help an accountant (Anna Kendrick) who has found something funny in the books of a legitimate company. We also know that things go wildly wrong because Christian starts shooting people and goes a little “Bond.”

But, now we get some insight into how the story maneuvers, and the other characters. For example, Christian in »

The Walking Dead's top 13 moments so far

26 September 2016 9:13 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Louisa Mellor Sep 30, 2016

As The Walking Dead season 7 premiere edges closer, we look back over some of season 1-6’s best ever moments. Spoilers…

Warning: contains major spoilers for The Walking Dead seasons 1- 6.

The world of The Walking Dead is a cruel one. That’s the lesson its showrunners have impressed upon viewers time and again through six seasons of Walker attacks, bloody beheadings, surprise crossbow bolts to the brain, and—how could we not mention it—bludgeonings by psychopaths wielding barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bats.

That’s why you won’t find much fun in the selection below. The Walking Dead isn’t really a birthday-parties-and-puppies kind of place; it’s more a viscera-and-machine gun sort of deal.

Don't forget: you can win The Walking Dead prizes here

Bear that in mind as you join us on this tour of the show’s thirteen most unforgettable moments so far...

Does This Statement From Marvel TV Head Imply A Ghost Rider/Punisher Crossover?

22 September 2016 1:38 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

When it was first announced that Ghost Rider would be making his way over to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was a bit confusing, to say the least. Tonally, he certainly seemed like a character who would be a much better fit on the Netflix side of things, where the action is harder and the world grimier. In fact, there were rumors that supported the idea that that he would be getting his own Netflix show down the line. Obviously, things have changed sinc then. But why Agents?

Speaking with Cbr, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb talked about how the reason they wanted him in the show was because they wanted to tell his origin:

“I think one of the things we always start out with is, 'What’s the story behind the character?' In this particular case, the idea of Robbie Reyes and his story — if you go back to the very beginning, »

Evidence continues to mount that Frank Castle (Aka The Punisher) will be making an appearance elsewhere in Marvel’s small-screen universe before Jon Bernthal’s mercenary toplines his own solo series.

Ahead of New York Comic-Con kicking off, the event’s official Twitter account shot out a message earlier today confirming that Bernthal would be in attendance at next weekend’s showcase; however, that visit will be cut short “due to his Netflix production schedule.”

Per Twitter:

Due to his Netflix production schedule, @jonnybernthal will only be at #Nycc on Saturday and Sunday. More info: https://t.co/uMrzkxxJWM pic.twitter.com/Ro6nMfqvry

Is this a sign that The Punisher is primed to leap before the cameras earlier than planned? After all, Ben Barnes recently climbed aboard the spinoff, with reports claiming that the Bernthal-fronted series will actually premiere in late »

Yesterday, the official twitter account for New York Comic Con sent out a tweet about actor Jon Bernthal's appearance at the upcoming convention. While he’s excellent in The Knick, Children of Men, Duplicity, and more, one of Clive Owen‘s most-seen roles might be as The Driver in a set of Bwm shorts titled The Hire back at the turn of the century. Featuring direction from John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Wong Kar-wai, Guy Ritchie, Alejandro González Iñárritu, John Woo, Joe Carnahan, and Tony Scott, it was a killer line-up.

15 years later, Owen is now stepping back into the role. Directed by Neill Blomkamp, The Escape not only features Owen, but Dakota Fanning, Jon Bernthal and Vera Farmiga as well. Running 11 minutes, it won’t premiere online until October 23rd, but the first teaser has landed today. Ben Barnes joins The Punisher as a series regular

13 September 2016 7:23 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It looks like casting is underway on Netflix’s latest Marvel project, with TV Line reporting that Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) has signed on to appear alongside Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle as a series regular in The Punisher.

Although character details are being kept under wraps, it is rumoured that Barnes will be playing the villain Bobby Saint, the son of mob boss Howard Saint. Both characters were created for the 2004 movie starring Thomas Jane, with James Carpinello playing Bobby and John Travolta as Howard.

It would surely be a huge surprise if Marvel used a character created for a movie over the many possible comic book villains at their disposal, so I’d suggest taking that rumour with a pinch of salt…

Marvel's The Punisher: Ben Barnes Joins The Netflix Series In Villain Role

12 September 2016 3:30 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Marvel's Netflix series certainly have a lot going for them. While it'd be easy for the shows to be overly-dark, bland, and violent for the sake of violence, there is a real heart to each and every one of them. The characters in these shows aren't just characters. They're not just plot devices. They're not chess pieces on a board moved around in order to lead to the next big tentpole character. No, they've living, breathing entities. This is the case for Daredevil, and this is the case for Jessica Jones.

While Season 2 of Daredevil had a lot of strong points to it, one of the big standouts was Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher.  This anti-hero had been tackled on three different occasions up until that point -- all of them unsuccessfully. While he was a favorite among fans, for one reason or another, no one could seem to get him right. »
