Episode Recap: Person of Interest - 1.09: "Get Carter"

  • PopStar
After a couple of weeks with no new episodes, I can safely say that I was absurdly excited for this new installment of Person of Interest (TV). Especially since the Machine's new number is that of Det. Carter (Taraji Henson) and this, of course, means more character development for her. Not only did Henson shine, but the entire story and character driven plot was simply superb and proves that this show has hit the trifecta of awesome: storytelling, casting and plot. At first, we get a flashback to 2004 in Afghanistan, where our intrepid Det. Carter is an interrogator for the army. We see that her skills as a detective in vetting the truth out of a person were well honed before she ever joined NYPD. She's the one who is called in to get the truth where others have failed. Back in present day, we see Carter going about her day.
