He is the youngest child and only son of Marina D. Gooden, a veteran federal worker; he has a sister, Whitney, who is five years older, and a 12-year-old niece, Briana. The entire family resides in Atlanta. Jared has no children and has never been married.
Jared was born into a musical family and enjoys playing the acoustic and electric guitars and the piano. He loves listening to many kinds of music, including hard rock and R&B, and greatly admires the work of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
