Mini Bio (1)
Andy first began playing the saxophone in 6th grade when, at the pleading of his violin teacher, he switched to saxophone. Seven years later he was close to dropping out of Boston's famed Berklee College of Music in the middle of his first semester when he happened to wander downstairs at the request of a close friend. Down in the basement of Berklee Andy found the school's recording studios. He felt an empowerment like none he had felt before - not only could he make sounds, but he could make sounds go whoosh and zoom with the mere press of a button or slide of a fader.
Filled with wanderlust, Andy interned at several major Boston area studios. After school he packed up and crossed the country, never to live in a cold city again (He insists Seattle does not count as "cold" relative to Boston).
Andy's career appeared to start off with a bang, first working for Skywalker Sound, spending a year under the tutelage of Randy Thom and honing his new skills on a video game for LucasArts. However, the family life called and Andy took the next two years off to raise his, Sofia, and when he resurfaced into the world of the employed he found himself far from the verdant hills of Northern California in the deep southern urban canyons of Atlanta.
As a freelance sound designer, Andy pushed the boundaries of creativity with the Cartoon Network and anyone else who let him work late at night. This night-time bug led him back to the world of video games, starting with medal of Honor: Airborne for EA Games and then Hellgate: London for Flagship Studios in San Francisco.
Andy now resides in Seattle, WA, with his daughter and is the Lead Sound Designer for Sucker Punch Productions in Bellevue, WA.
