Confirming early story tidbits to be true, photographer Jarrod Au has shared a new image from the set of Shane Black’s The Predator, which features not one, but two Predators in the most unusual of places.

Kitted out in full combat gear, down below you’ll see that both aliens appear to be part of a small military squadron. One Predator, for instance, is riding shotgun in an armored personnel carrier, while the other flips the peace sign from atop said Apc tank. It’s impossible to know the full context of the scene based on this photo alone, but if nothing else, Au’s snap serves as a pointed reminder that Shane Black and the VFX team at 20th Century Fox will be employing practical effects wherever possible when it comes to bringing The Predator to life. »

10 Things We Learned From NBCUniversal’s Upfront

15 May 2017 11:10 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

NBCUniversal kicked off this week’s marathon of upfront presentations and parties Monday morning with a two-hour, company-wide affair at Radio City Music Hall.

The presentation was long on talent from across its channel portfolio, short on executive speeches and featured appearances by everyone from Jennifer Hudson (who belted out her signature “Dreamgirls” number “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going”) to Megyn Kelly to a few dozen Minions. Attendees lost count of the number of times the success of “This Is Us” was mentioned, but nobody could blame NBC for bragging about its bona fide breakout hit.

Here are 10 things we learned from NBCUniversal’s upfront:

1. The broadcast networks will be hammering away at the weakness of their digital competitors when it comes to controlling content environment for advertising. YouTube, Facebook and others have recently faced backlash from Madison Avenue for algorithm-directed spots popping up in unfortunate places. “Brand »

‘This Is Us’ Season 2 Trailer: The Pearsons Are Back (Watch)

The Pearsons are back.

NBC released a sneak peek of season 2 of their breakout hit “This Is Us” at their upfront presentation on Monday. The drama will be moving to Thursdays this fall as part of the network’s revival of the “Must See TV” programming push, and getting a plum slot after the Super Bowl — as well as a Christmas special.

The season finale ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, as the couple at the center of the series — Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) — had an explosive argument which ended with Jack packing his bags and moving out.

Is this the beginning of the end for Jack and Rebecca? Or can this marriage be saved? “I think people will get some of the answers that they’re looking for and that perhaps didn’t come in the finale,” Moore told Variety recently. “They will be satiated by the first bit of season two.”
