Now I don’t know if you believe in omens, I don’t even know if I believe them myself, but if ever there was a bad omen for the continued future of Fringe, then have a listen to this strange statistic:
Last week, Episode 15 reached an all-time ratings low for the series, with only 2.8 million Us viewers. Now you could blame this on the opening weekend of the Hunger Games, but we all know Fringe has been sliding slowly down the ratings chart since it was moved to the Friday night ‘death slot’. I don’t have the figures yet, but I suspect last night’s episode offered little improvement. As you’re aware if you’ve seen the episode, it was a re-hash of sorts of an old episode from Season 1. An identical case from Peter’s (Joshua Jackson) timeline re-emerges and takes on »

The Syfy original movie Mysterious Island, adapted from Jules Verne’s 1874 novel, follows five northern POWs from the American Civil War, who make the decision to escape by hijacking a hot air balloon. When they wake to find themselves marooned on a desert island, inhabited by a cast of survivors who have been lost in space and time, they are faced with defending themselves against vicious pirates, terrifying creatures and an active volcano that’s ready to blow, and they must find a way to survive and escape the island before it claims them forever. Mysterious Island: Mark Sheppard and Gina Holden Preview Their Jules Verne Adaptation
Earlier this week, on Jules Verne's birthday, genre faves Mark Sheppard and Gina Holden answered questions about tonight's Syfy original movie, Jules Verne's Mysterious Island. Sheppard directs and co-stars in this film adaptation featuring both he and his father playing the classic role of Captain Nemo (at different ages).
In a time when not every actor rushes to associate with sci-fi fare, Mark Sheppard's become closely associated with some of the genre's most beloved franchises. What does Mark find so appealing in the material? "It seems to produce some of the most exciting TV and films that are made." Sheppard elucidates, "Sci-fi just has that ability, and yes, I love watching and especially directing actors looking at giant octopuses that aren’t there. It’s a tough job and I think it takes a very »

Sci-fi constants Mark Sheppard (Doctor Who, Supernatural) and Gina Holden (Flash Gordon, Saw 3D) very kindly took time earlier this week to speak with the press about their upcoming Syfy Original Movie, Jules Verne’s Mysterious Island. SciFi Mafia took the opportunity to ask them a few questions about their extensive work in the genre.
SciFi Mafia: Mark, any chance you can tell us if you’re going to be on Doctor Who again and if you’ll be continuing to do voice work for BBC America?
Mark Sheppard: Well, yes, I’ve been doing a lot of voiceovers for BBC America, it’s so much fun to introduce some of the shows I’m actually in. This is so much fun. But what am I going to do on Doctor Who, I can’t tell you that. I mean I’d lie. I’d have to lie about everything, »

When you get a movie to review called Sand Sharks you can already guess what is coming. This is going to be one of those crazy shark films that use dodgy CGI and bad acting but just don’t seem to care. They don’t make these films to be good, if anything they ham it up to insane levels and just go with it. You’ll either groan or just go with it and love it. I’m one of those people that usually groan but I gave Sand Sharks a chance.
The stories for these movies are pretty barebones at best but I’d say this one actually tried to some extent, being that it stole the Jaws idea and runs with it with »
