Actor Armie Hammer took time out of his busy shooting schedule on The Lone Ranger to stop by Access Hollywood, where he shared some interesting tidbits about director Gore Verbinski's adventure.
The actor first revealed that his Lone Ranger is not only more grounded in reality, but more hardcore than the original character.
""It's a little bit more badass and a little more realistic."
Earlier this month, the first photo from The Lone Ranger was revealed, featuring Armie Hammer as the title character. The actor says he is grateful that they ditched the original baby blue body costume for this version of The Lone Ranger's wardrobe.
"I'm really glad they didn't go with this like, skintight, baby blue, Lycra jumpsuit that the old Lone Ranger was wearing."
Armie Hammer also revealed that there are many scenes involving horses, and he described one particularly mammoth horse.
"We have one horse that is humongous. »

Disney's biggest gamble of 2013, Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger, has officially gone into production. There was a point I didn't think this movie would actually happen, but here it is. Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer will lead the pack of actors into the wild west.
The reason I say this movie is a gamble is because Disney is spending $216 million dollars to make the movie, and no Western in the history of cinema has ever made that much money. The highest grossing western of all time is Dances With Wolves, and that only brought in $184 million. I can't believe Disney is pumping this kind of money into a western, because I don't think it's going to make that kind of money back in theaters. Hell, Favreau's Cowboy & Aliens only made a little over $100 million and that mixed both sci-fi and western elements! That should have been a blockbuster, and it wasn't. »

After months of negotiating, shutdowns, renegotiations and script tweaking (which we like to imagine involved the oft-composed Jerry Bruckheimer flying into Hulk-style rages when he didn’t get his way), Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp are finally cranking the cameras on The Lone Ranger. And they’ve locked in four more actors to round out the cast, with Harry Treadaway, Matt O’Leary, W. Earl Brown and Leon Rippy all aboard. Depp stars as Tonto alongside Armie Hammer’s titular Ranger, John Reid in the story of betrayal, corruption, Old West heroism and, possibly, some supernatural elements all thrown into the script pot by writers Ted Elliot, Terry Rossio and Justin Haythe. While Rippy and Brown’s roles have yet to be revealed, Variety reports that Treadaway and O’Leary will be members of the criminal gang led by Burt Cavendish (William Fichtner). They’re all joining a cast that also includes Ruth Wilson, »
