Pop Orders Scripted Comedy ‘Traci From Nightcap’ Starring Ali Wentworth

Pop, the cabler owned by CBS and Lionsgate, has given a series order to a comedy starring Ali Wentworth that is set behind the scenes of a late-night talk show.

“Traci From Nightcap” will focus on the 22 minutes leading up to the nightly airing of the fictitious talk show “Night Cap with Jimmy.” It’s billed as having a mix of improv actors and celebrity guests. Wentworth plays a producer on the show and is an exec producer for Lionsgate TV along with Tom Brunelle, Brad Wollack, Troy Miller, Lydia Tenaglia, Chris Collins and Craig Shepherd.

“It’s been a lifelong dream to portray the true unsung hero of late night television, the talent booker! I apologize to all the Hollywood talent bookers who told me their celeb secrets off the record that I will now exploit for money,” Wentworth said.
