This dramatic science-fiction TV series explores the question "What would you do without it all?" A family struggles to reunite in an American landscape where every single piece of technology -- computers, refrigerators, air conditioners, planes, cars, phones, lights -- has mysteriously stopped working. Electrical power has simply gone away. The show also revolves around the idea of family -- both the family you're born into and the family you choose.

How times have changed. Last year, Revolution looked like it was the big hit of the 2013-14 season. Now, NBC has cancelled it, according to TV Guide.
Revolution revolves around the Matheson family and others who live in a world where there is no longer any power. The cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, Jd Pardo, Stephen Collins, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Following The Voice, Revolution started out very strong last year but the numbers fell as the season progressed. NBC renewed it for a full season off 22 episodes anyway and relocated it to Wednesdays at 8pm. It's really struggled in that timeslot and this week fell to a 1.2 demo rating with 3.78 million viewers -- an all-time low.
Not surprisingly, NBC has decided not to order a third season. There are two installments remaining »
It’s hard to find a character on Revolution whose actions and personality don’t fit the term “morally grey” — but Giancarlo Esposito’s Tom Neville has always walked the seemingly thin, fine line between good and evil.
After a rocky climb from the bottom up following last season’s fall of the Monroe Republic, season two of the NBC drama has found the former sheriff experiencing the short thrill of being back in power, along with the loss and return (and loss) of his wife, Julia (Kim Raver)…not to mention his son, Jason (Jd Pardo). And when Revolution returns tonight, »

Revolution serves up one of its rare sense-making, engaging episodes. Here's Billy's review...

2.18 Austin City Limits
Just when I thought Revolution had completely imploded, it entirely confused me by chucking a story light on silliness, and strong on performance.
I knew something was wrong from the outset, because the opening scene between Giancarlo Esposito (Tom) and J.D. Pardo (Jason) was probably the best they’d ever done together. Mr Pardo did some acting, and Mr Esposito resisted the temptation to ham it up outrageously. I should have worked out then that this wasn’t good news for one of these two, but it did strike me as an odd interaction at the time.
Tom’s descent is almost complete. He’s only to work out that his wife sold him out for the whole deal to be done. Jason wanders off, »
Revolution, Season 2, Episode 18: “Austin City Limits”
Directed by Helen Shaver
Airs Wednesdays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
It was never going to end well when Jason reteamed with the Matheson/Monroe alliance (which we’ll just call the Alliance from now on). He stepped out of the darkness and into their camp with crucial intelligence on the Austin meeting point for the Patriots’ cadets. It took some convincing, but eventually the Alliance brought him into the fold to stop whatever it is the Patriots are up to in Austin, albeit with his hands bound.
There’s plenty of foreshadowing for the closing moments. As Jason commands the Alliance to shoot him if he moves even an inch out of line, the cadet trainer reminds him how dangerous he can be. The stony efficiency with which he dismantles the countermeasures in the Patriots’ Austin »

The title of tonight’s midseason premiere of Revolution is “Three Amigos”, and I can’t help but wonder if it’s meant ironically. It’s hard to think of anyone using a generally lighthearted term in this stressful future environment, with its traitorous and untrustworthy and conniving friends, relatives, and acquaintances, alliances made and broken, and of course those bits o’ light that take the form of a child and alternately turn people into torches.
Clip: Revolution – Episode 210: Where’s My Son
Hey, maybe the Three Amigos are Bass, Miles, and Connor! Hmmm. Doubtful.
This has been an absolutely excellent season of Revolution, and I am so happy to be starting off 2014 with more new episodes. Bring em on!
