Tis the season to be scary and Screambox has got you covered with a trio of brand-spanking-new Christmas-themed horror movies that go perfectly with cookies and milk in front of a warm fire.
Now streaming on Screambox from the director of Jason Goes to Hell is Secret Santa and the awesomely creepy anthology Night of the Missing.
That’s not all! Just in time for Christmas break, Santastein will make the long winter’s nights anything but silent on Dec. 19.
Since Black Christmas, holiday films have been a refreshing sub-genre within horror. These films offer a much-needed contrast to the “all is well” narrative that is so often depicted in seasonal films. The angst and anxiety of holiday horror offer a cathartic release because for many the holidays are not perfect, and we don’t see ourselves in the yuletide rom-coms.

Horror fans will recognize Adam Marcus as the director of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and the co-writer of Texas Chainsaw 3D, two divisive but oft-discussed entries in their respective franchises. He recently returned to the genre to helm Secret Santa, a holiday horror-comedy streaming exclusively on Screambox.
The final installment in our three-part interview with the raconteur focuses on Secret Santa and the trials and tribulations of independent filmmaking. He also teases several projects that are in the works, including a monstrous collaboration with special effects legend Robert Kurtzman.
Secret Santa was born out of Marcus and his writing partner/wife Debra Sullivan’s frustration with the lack of creative control they had on their two previously produced screenplays, 2013’s Texas Chainsaw and 2015’s Momentum. “Artistically, it just started to feel really hollow. I was like, ‘Did I get into this to make money, or did I...

“As friends and family gather near, to celebrate another holiday season, they have no idea a murderer lies in their midst. With drinks flowing, a distant and dysfunctional, affluent family is unaware that their yuletide libations are laced with a truth serum that will bring holy hell down on their holiday gathering. When secrets begin to spill, the tension starts to rise until it escalates into a murderous rampage that Krampus would be proud of. But through the bobbles and bloodshed,...

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday wasn't the last time we ever saw Jason Voorhees on screen, but it did prove to be the last true installment in the franchise. Now, original director Adam Marcus is back to tell the tale behind what is considered the most controversial Friday the 13th sequel of all-time. He will be producing this retrospective documentary, as well as providing all the insight into what went on behind the scenes.
Jason Goes To Hell is notorious for its limited use of Jason, despite the slasher's name being in the title. Many fans still love it for being good, gory and a lot of fun. Now, The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees: The Making of The Final Friday will dive deep int how this movie came to be, and why it is what it is. Safe Place director Nick Hunt is helming the project. Johnny Macabre...

"Jeepers Creepers" director Victor Salva is making a new nightmare film and is recruiting Rose McGowan to become part of it. The "Charmed" actress has been tapped to star in "Rosewood Lane" which is promised to be as original as Salva's "Jeepers Creepers" franchise.
In the new movie, McGowan will play Doctor Sonny Blake, a radio talk show psychiatrist, who moves back to her childhood home after her alcoholic father dies. Once back in her old neighborhood she discovers the local paperboy is a frightening and cunning young sociopath that targeted her father and now targets her.
When the boy starts calling her show and recites eerie nursery rhymes, an unnerving game of cat-and-mouse begins. When the game escalates, she suddenly finds herself in a terrifying all out war, one that forces her to redefine her ideas of good and evil, and has her fighting to stay alive.
