Michael Urie is a native Texan who was active in Speech and Drama all through high school at Plano Senior High School. He trained in theater studies at Collin County Community College in Plano before going to The Juilliard School where he was recipient of the John Houseman prize for excellence in classical theater and the Laura Pels award for a career in the theater.

Michael graduated from the Drama Division of The Juilliard School in 2003. He was the recipient of the prestigious John Houseman prize in 2002.
Michael began his collegiate studies at the acclaimed Quad C Theater program at Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas.
Born in Houston, Texas; raised in Plano, Texas.
He is a huge fan of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and Neil Diamond.
He was mauled by a pit-bull named Jenny and needed 17 stitches to his face.
