Mumbai, March 26 (Ians) An unbeaten 52 runs partnership for the last wicket between Shikha Pandey (27 not out) and Radha Yadav (27 not out) helped Delhi Capitals recover from precarious 79/9 to post a decent 131/9 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians in the final of the Women’s Premier League (Wpl) 2023, here on Sunday.

Barring a 37-run partnership off 29 balls between captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar, there wasn’t much of note from Mumbai’s batting. In reply, powerful 30s from Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey helped Delhi complete the chase in just nine overs.

Navi Mumbai, March 20 (Ians) Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Mumbai Indians in match 18 of the Women’s Premier League at the Dy Patil Stadium on Monday.
It is a clash between the top two teams of the competition who have already made it to the playoffs, with Up Warriorz joining them earlier in the day. But the race for the top spot and getting a direct entry into the final is still active, while the second-placed team will go into the eliminator against the third-ranked side.
Mumbai, the current table-toppers, are coming off their first loss of the competition in their previous match against the Warriorz, while Delhi come in after losing to the Gujarat Giants by 11 runs.
“No real reason (for bowling first). Just going to see how it goes. Same team, the same combination as the previous game.

London, Dec 8 (Ians) England women’s team has said that they have added Maia Bouchier and Alice Davidson-Richards to their T20I squad for the series against West Indies after teenaged cricketer Alice Capsey was sent back home due to a broken collarbone.
Maia, 24, has played 14 T20Is for England since her debut in September 2021 and featured in all five matches for England at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games. But she didn’t get a central contract and wasn’t initially included in the 15-player squad for the five-match T20I series against the West Indies.
But with Capsey injured due to a broken left collar bone, she is now back in the T20I setup with Davidson-Richards, who was to fly home after the third Odi in Antigua on Friday and will now stay with the team for the five T20Is against the West Indies.

Durham, Sep 10 (Ians) India captain Harmanpreet Kaur refused to take England lightly, calling them “a very good side”, despite them missing all-rounder Nat Sciver ahead of the start of the T20I series at the Riverside Ground in Durham on Saturday.
On Thursday, Nat, who was named stand-in skipper for the series against India with regular captain Heather Knight ruled out due to hip injury which needed surgery, announced that she won’t be taking part in the series due to well-being reasons.
With no Heather, Nat and veteran seamer Katherine Brunt rested, leadership responsibilities now lie on wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones and talented youngsters like Issy Wong, Alice Capsey, Freya Kemp, Lauren Bell and Sophia Dunkley.
“I know England will be missing her (Nat Sciver), but I think they are still a very good side. We still need to play well to defeat them. The last 10 days, it has given...
