Moana Wins Box Office Weekend #2 with $28.3M
The weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday is traditionally one of the weakest frames of the year, where holdovers almost always reign supreme over new releases. This year, only one new movie was released, the horror-thriller Incarnate, but, as expected, last weekend's winner Moana had no trouble repeating atop the box office, taking in $28.3 million. Incarnate barely cracked the top 10, opening in ninth place with $2.6 million, continuing a tradition of new releases failing to win this weekend.

Since box office stats became official in 1982, a new release has only took the top spot three times. The first time it happened was in 1988, with the release of The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, which won with $9.3 million. In 1991, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country became the second new release to conquer this weekend with $18.1 million, with The Last Samurai becoming the last new release to do so in

Will Moana Conquer Its Second Weekend at the Box Office?
Disney's animated adventure Moana had no trouble taking down three fellow newcomers over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend at the box office, bringing in $56.3 million over the three-day weekend and $82 million over the five-day extended weekend. Starting this Friday, it will only have one newcomer to face, Blumhouse's horror-thriller Incarnate, which is expected to debut in less than half the theaters Moana is playing in. With that being said, Moana should have no trouble repeating atop the box office with a projected $27.3 million.

Box Office Mojo reports that Incarnate will open in approximately 1,500 theaters, a far cry from the 3,875 theaters that Moana opened in over the holiday weekend. The weekend after Thanksgiving is traditionally a weak one at the box office, with holdovers from earlier in the month almost always dominating over the meager competition doled out by the studios. In fact, since box office figures started being made official by

'Bridge of Spies', 'Concussion', 'Maze Runner: Scorch Trials' and More in Today's MPAA Ratings

Today's MPAA ratings bulletin delivers a couple of potential Oscar contenders beginning with Steven Spielberg's Cold War thriller starring Tom Hanks, Bridge of Spies. No surprise this one is rated PG-13 and a tame one at that and it's not much different when it comes to Peter Landesman's NFL head injury drama Concussion starring Will Smith. A lengthy bit of reasoning accompanies the PG-13 for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and there's a lot said about Paramount's R-rated Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse. A24's Room, however, starring Brie Larson gets a concise and to the point R rating for language. Nuff said. Also included is Incarnate, a new Blumhouse horror from director Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and starring Carice van Houten, Aaron Eckhart, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Keir O'Donnell. IMDb says the thriller will play in Belgium in September, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear

'American Sniper' Blu-ray and DVD Coming on May 19
From director Clint Eastwood comes American Sniper, arriving onto Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD on May 19 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, A Mad Chance Production, A 22nd & Indiana Production. American Sniper stars Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, whose skills as a sniper made him a hero on the battlefield. But there was much more to him than his skill as a sharpshooter.

A two-time Oscar nominee for his work in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Cooper stars alongside Sienna Miller, Luke Grimes, Jake McDorman, Cory Hardrict, Kevin Lacz, Navid Negahban and Keir O'Donnell. Oscar-winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven) directed American Sniper from a screenplay written by Jason Hall, based on the book by Chris Kyle, with Scott McEwen and James Defelice. The autobiography was a runaway bestseller, spending 18 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, 13 of those at number one.

American Sniper Review: An Amazing Performance Of A Real American Hero

It would have been so easy for Clint Eastwood to latch onto American jingoism with his new movie, American Sniper. He could have very easily just shot Bradley Cooper draped in the stars and stripes, set amidst action pieces taken from a GI Joe cartoon. Instead, Eastwood -- and especially Bradley Cooper -- have turned in a fine film that does away with the silly traps that most war films fall into and instead focuses on one aspect of the greater cause -- one man, Chris Kyle -- who is known as the most prolific sniper in American history.

The tropes are there, sure. Chris Kyle (Cooper) is a rodeo-riding, good ol' boy from Texas who chases skirts, enjoys his beers, and loves and protects his baby brother (Keir O'Donnell) -- as directed to by his father (Ben Reed) when the boys were younger. When Americans are killed during a

'American Sniper' (2014) Movie Review

U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle is the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history with 160 confirmed kills out of 255 probable kills. American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper, sets out to tell his story from his early days as a Texas youth, through his four tours in Iraq and his subsequent attempt to return to family life with his wife and two children. Eastwood clumsily directs Jason Hall's (Paranoia) clumsier script, based on Kyle's own memoir, bringing a little bit of energy to the story with Kyle's time in Iraq, mixed with embarrassing, soap opera level melodrama whenever he returns home. However, even the Iraq moments feel false as anyone making a film involving Navy SEALs better pay close attention to Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty as she set a high bar for anyone hoping to capture the intensity of tactical warfare with a sense of authenticity.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop Sequel In The Works

Paul Blart: Mall Cop Sequel In The Works
One of 2009's surprise smash hits was Kevin James vehicle (and minor tongue-twister) Paul Blart: Mall Cop, a not-as-bad-as-you'd-think workplace comedy about an overweight security guard taking on a bunch of crims. With a $26 million budget, it hauled in $183 million worldwide, which is no doubt why both James and his director, Andy Flickman, are planning a sequel.Joining Flickman (She's The Man, Race To Witch Mountain, Parental Guidance) and James (I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, Grown Ups, Zookeeper, Grown Ups 2, Here Comes The Boom) is writer Nick Bakay (the voice of Salem the cat in 1990s Saturday morning classic Sabrina The Teenage Witch) who also co-wrote the first film with James. As well as co-writing and starring, James will also produce, joined by Todd Garner and Adam Sandler. Fingers crossed that some of the original cast will return, such as Jayma Mays, Keir O'Donnell, Raini Rodriguez, Shirley Knight and Bobby Cannavale.

Justin Long's New Movie Almost Had A Very Different, Unintentionally Inappropriate Title

Justin Long's New Movie Almost Had A Very Different, Unintentionally Inappropriate Title
Justin Long has been a busy man lately. That should be pretty evident by the fact that he had to movies to promote when he said down with MTV News' Josh Horowitz this week.

The first, "A Case of You," a film co-written by Long and his brother Christian with Keir O'Donnell, tells the story of a man who molds himself to be the perfect match for the girl he's fallen in love with.

The other is called "Best Man Down," a movie more serious than it's friendly title would have you believe. The day after his wedding, Scott (Long) finds that his best man and best friend Lumpy has died. The film was originally coming to be named after the deceased character, but it was changed recently.

Long explains during the chat how the story of the first movie resonates with him and why the original title of the

Watch: Justin Long Cute-Stalks Evan Rachel Wood in Trailer for 'A Case of You'
In the internet age, it's hard not to Google search or Facebook stalk potential love interests in the hopes of finding some good info that you can use to your wooing advantage. In the new trailer for "A Case of You," Sam (Justin Long) scours the internet profiles of barista Birdie (Evan Rachel Wood) to learn her likes and hobbies so that he can transform himself into the perfect match. When Birdie falls for him, Sam has to keep up the act, or risk her finding out who he really is, which for some reason is a bad thing. Though the film seems to follow the usual romantic comedy trope of "I'm not who I said I was", albeit with a bit of a creepy stalker vibe, at least Long and Wood look like they've got some chemistry. And hey, is that Peter Dinklage in a comedic supporting role? The

However, when he creates a fake online profile that hits all the right notes for Birdie, she falls for this fake persona, and of course he has to keep up the act to keep her. Questions and Answers from Tribeca: Justin Long

  • NextMovie
"A Case of You," Justin Long's latest comedy, revolves around a hack writer who wins over a barista (Evan Rachel Wood) by stalking her on Facebook and posing as her "perfect man."

It's not exactly "The Big Wedding," which is why the $3 million indie is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend and not fast-tracked for mall multiplexes. It's a helluva lot bolder than your average studio rom-com.

Long, who stars but also produced and co-wrote the script with brother Christian Long and Keir O'Donnell, told us about his feelings on online dating (and stalking) and which one of his movies is sooooo much better when you're stoned.

So "A Case of You"… The first great cyber-stalker rom-com of our time?

Well I don't know if it's great but … It's funny while we were writing we were like, has no one really done this? I was surprised. We
