The IMAX Trailer and Poster for Pacific Rim Uprising promise big scale action

Author: Jon Lyus

Bypassing Pacific Rim Uprising, the sequel to his lacklustre Monsters Vs. Robots film, was perhaps the greatest career move Guillermo del Toro has ever made. Handing the keys to his dystopian kingdom to Steven S. DeKnight, del Toro dived into The Shape of Water and its baker’s dozen of Oscar Nominations.

There is a robot in the distance however, and a decade after the events of the first film life has moved on since the heroic efforts of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost sealed the dimensional rift. Trouble has a habit of popping up over and over however, and it’s now the turn of Pentecost Jr. to save the world.

A new IMAX trailer opens up the world again, and there’s also a fancy looking poster too.

Directed by Steven S. DeKnight, the film has a cast of John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian,

Pacific Rim 2 IMAX Trailer Brings Bigger Monsters Into Battle

IMAX has unveiled a trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising, which showcases all-new action scenes between the new Jaeger robots and the kaiju beasts that threaten the Earth's well-being. This trailer also helps illustrate the scope of the massive new kaiju creature, which dwarfs even these huge Jaeger robots, and shows that if these new pilot want to ensure Earth's survival and safety, they have to work together as a team. This exciting trailer also presents a compelling case as to why this movie should be seen in the IMAX format, putting some of the biggest action set pieces on display.

The trailer also offers a few new scenes with a few of the returning characters from the original Pacific Rim, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) and Newton Geisler (Charlie Day). While we've seen the new Kaiju threat in previous trailers, there is a scene in this trailer that literally shows this monster dwarfing the Jaegers,

Warner Bros. has released two new TV spots for ‘Pacific Rim Uprising‘. The first trailer showcasing the new Jaegers in the film–Gipsy Avenger, Bracer Phoenix, Saber Athena, Titan Redeemer and Guardian Bravo–along with a second that takes a look at each of their unique weapons. Japanese Trailer For Pacific Rim Uprising Offers New Footage and More of Rinko Kikuchi’s Mako

If you're excited about seeing Pacific Rim Uprising, we've got a cool new trailer for you to watch today that was released for Japanese audiences. The new trailer includes a bit of new footage, some of which footage includes more of Rinko Kikuchi’s character Mako, who seems to be taking more of a leadership role this time around. She is actually the one who will convince John Boyega’s character Jake to follow in the footsteps of his fallen father, Stacker Pentecost, and join the Jaeger Pilots. It's also interesting to see that early on in the trailer we see that there are protesters with anti-Jaeger and pro-Kaiju signs.

I like what I've seen in the trailers that have been released and I hope that the movie actually turns out to be good!

Pacific Rim 2 Predicted to Fall Way Below Original at the Box Office

Pacific Rim 2 Predicted to Fall Way Below Original at the Box Office
After a nearly five-year wait, fans of the 2013 monster movie Pacific Rim will finally get a sequel when Pacific Rim Uprising hits theaters on March 23. The sequel boasts some new faces like John Boyega as Jake Pentecost and some returning cast members like Rinko Kikuchi as Mako Mori, but, if the first box office projections are accurate, this movie could come in far below its predecessor, which wasn't a blockbuster itself at the domestic box office. The first long-range projections for Pacific Rim: Uprising put its opening weekend at just $20 million, with a projected domestic total of $49 million, less than half of the original Pacific Rim's haul five years ago.

This long-range projection lists the casting of John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, as one of the "pros" for this movie, since the actor is coming off of his blockbuster turns in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and last year's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

New ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ Trailer Features Jaeger-on-Jaeger Action

A new trailer for Universal’s upcoming monster epic ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising‘ has been unveiled, and it features pretty much everything you’s expect from a ‘Pacific Rim‘ movie. The sequel to 2013’s ‘Pacific Rim‘, which was jump-started by Guillermo Del Toro, sees John Boyega‘s Jake Pentecost leading a Jaeger uprising after Kaiju mysteriously begin to appear once again. The trailer itself features a few new surprises, but the most interesting has to be the shots from Jaeger vs Jaeger battle that is teased in the trailer, simply because of the story implications that it provides. It seems that the reason for the Kaiju return is due to someone re-opening the portal form earth. Interesting twist on the story of the original to say the least.

Originally planned to be directed by Del Toro–that is until he fell in love with the ‘The Shape of Water‘ and decided

Second Trailer for 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' Sequel Starring John Boyega

"We're going to need more violence." How is that actually a line in the movie? Universal has unveiled a second official trailer for the sci-fi sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising, the action packed kaiju vs giant robots sequel following-up Guillermo del Toro's movie a few years ago. Del Toro produced and help write the story, but is letting Steven S. DeKnight direct. This sequel picks right up after the first movie, following John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, the son of Idris Elba's character Stacker Pentecost. The movie's full ensemble cast also includes Adria Arjona, Scott Eastwood, Tian Jing, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Rinko Kikuchi, Dustin Clare, Levi Meaden, Daniel Feuerriegel, Karan Brar, and Jin Zhang. This looks like it might be entertaining, barely. I'm not really into this that much, even with Boyega kicking kaiju ass. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Steven S. DeKnight's Pacific Rim: Uprising,
