When the first images from season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow were released, many fans questioned why Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen seemed to have such a big presence. He’s made cameo appearances in the series before, but the pics pointed to him playing a key role in bringing this ragtag team of heroes and villains back together again.

Thankfully, that’s something the synopsis for “Out of Time” sheds some light on. Interestingly, there’s no mention of Hourman, after he travelled from the future to warn the team of an impending threat in the season one finale, but there are some hints about the role that Dr. Nate Heywood (better known to comic book readers as Citizen Steel) will play here.

The CW has released the first official images from the season two premiere of Legends of Tomorrow, and they offer up a first look at…Oliver Queen?! While Green Arrow has made a handful of appearances in the series already, it’s fair to say that no one expected the Star City vigilante to make his presence felt in this particular episode.

What he’s up to here is hard to say, but it looks like he’ll be spending some time with Nick Zano’s Dr. Nate Heywood (the future Captain Steel) and confronting Heat Wave for reasons unknown.

The rest of the images in the gallery above focus on the team’s efforts to protect Albert Einstein from the villainous Damien Darhk. The Arrow season four villain will join up with Reverse-Flash, Captain Cold and Malcolm Merlyn to form the Legion of Doom in Legends of Tomorrow season two, »

Arrow's Stephen Amell Makes Surprise Appearance In First Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Images

6 September 2016 12:56 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

We'll see a lot of new and familiar faces in season two of Legends of Tomorrow, but Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen showing up in the premiere is definitely a surprise. What he's doing here is hard to say, though it's pretty clear that his role will involve the hero coming to blows with Heat Wave and teaming up with Nick Zano's Dr. Nate Heywood. We also get a glimpse of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). It's already been confirmed that he'll be teaming up with Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher), and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) to form the Legion of Doom, so chances are the premiere will offer up a taste of that. However, the main focus of these images is the team protecting Albert Einstein as they embrace their newfound role of protecting the time stream.    »

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Casts Obsidian And Reveals First Vixen Image

11 August 2016 1:17 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The CW really isn’t fooling around today when it comes to news pertaining to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Despite having an all-star team of superheroes leading the charge each week, that doesn’t mean the producers are afraid to squeeze in a few more guests culled from around the DC Universe.

ComicBook.com reports that legendary genre actor Lance Henriksen has been cast to play Obsidian, a member of the Justice Society of America. They’re quick to point out that an older actor was cast because this iteration of Obsidian’s heyday was during World War II and the crew of the Waverider will be meeting a present day or future version of him. Whether or not he’s the son of Green Lantern Alan Scott remains to be seen.
