Adam Lambert and his fans now have something to celebrate other than the recent release of his new album "Trespassing" - the record just debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Trespassing, which is also #1 on the Billboard Digital Album's chart, is Lambert's sophomore release which dropped on May 15th. It's the follow up to his hugely successful debut album "For Your Entertainment," which debuted at #3 on Billboard's Top 200. Lambert's fans, collaborators, and fellow artists, more commonly referred to as his Glamily, are buzzing over the news of his first #1 debut on Billboard, and Twitter has been cuckoo with comments to, for, and about Adam since the news broke. The singer himself has even tweeted about it- "Wow. Trespassing made it's debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Thank you to the Glamily for helping me make History." By history, Adam is referring to the fact that he is the first »

Adam Lambert is making history this week by reportedly becoming the first openly gay male artist to top the Billboard album charts.
As Billboard's Keith Caulfield is reporting, Lambert snagged the No. 1 spot with his sophomore effort, "Trespassing," which sold 77,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Interestingly, it's a case of one "American Idol" alum replacing another, as Lambert's chart debut toppled Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," which drops to No. 3.
Including Underwood, Lambert is the seventh "American Idol" finalist to reach No. 1, following Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry (of Daughtry) and Scotty McCreery, according to Billboard.
But Lambert's chart triumph is also historic, as it marks the first time an openly gay male performer accomplishes that feat. As AfterElton notes, "Other gay performers such as Elton John and George Michael have hit No. 1, but only before they came out, and they haven't managed that honor since."
Lambert seemingly acknowledged that accomplishment, »

Jake Gyllenhaal kicked off the first day of filming on his new project, An Enemy, in Toronto today. He got into character in a disheveled suit and the grown-out facial hair that he's been sporting for the last few months. Over the weekend, Jake was in NYC, where he's been hanging out with friends and family. He shared a walk with his sister Maggie before she welcomed a baby girl in April and was also spotted partying with pals. Jake met up with Jay-z for a guys' night out at the Standard along with Pharrell Williams. It looks like Jake is turning his focus to business now, though, since he's started working on set in Canada and also has End of Watch hitting theaters this Fall. View Slideshow › »

These days you can't simply have your own clothing line, signature brand of liquor, or even officially licensed wieners and consider yourself a hip-hop star. You also need some sort of ambitious yet vague, all-encompassing "initiative" defined by buzzwords lifted from a motivational corporate retreat—as seen in Kanye West's plans to gather all the world's artists, scientists, egrets, and carnies and form Donda, and now Pharrell Williams' "i am Other," a self-described "cultural movement dedicated to Thinkers, Innovators and Outcasts" who care not for society's rules for living nor capitalization. New York - Fresh off his 100th SNL Digital short premiere on Saturday, Andy Samberg, dressed as Shy Ronnie, crashed Santigold's show in New York City Monday night (May 14).
The show was put on by Samsung to celebrate its 5 million "likes" on Facebook and held at the intimate Irving Plaza. The singer opened with her best-known hits before moving on to her latest tracks from her sophomore album, Master of My Make Believe.
She rocked out on stage with two backup dancers in festive costumes and at one point selected a dozen or so fans to come up on stage to dance with her.
The crowd, which was composed mainly of fans who were hooked up through Samsung's Facebook page, was treated to an open bar, appetizers and even a few surprise guests.
In addition to Samberg, Pharrell Williams also joined the indie sensation to perform "My Drive Thru. »

What started as a guys night out recently for Jay-z, Jake Gyllenhaal, Pharrell Williams and some other male pals, was soon interrupted by Beyoncé Knowles's mom Tina and sister Solange. But that didn't seem to be a problem. The gang, who partied at the D'usse Cognac Launch party at The Top of the Standard in New York City, seemed in great spirits, hanging out in a roped-off section, watching the Knicks basketball game on TV. "They were very cheerful, laughing and enjoying the game," an onlooker tells People. "Several partygoers tried to steal pics." Carlos Greer Next: Ben Flajnik & Courtney Robertson »

West Hollywood, Calif. — Adam Lambert isn't coming off "American Idol" or a racy American Music Awards performance, nor is he declaring his sexuality in Rolling Stone or posing with a nude model in Details magazine.
The 30-year-old glam rocker doesn't mind the lack of a media thunderstorm ahead of Tuesday's launch of his sophomore album: He relishes the element of surprise.
Lambert is hoping to achieve it with "Trespassing," on which he teamed up with the likes of Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams and Dr. Luke. It's the follow-up to "For Your Entertainment," which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard charts in 2009, the same year he finished as the runner-up in the "Idol" contest.
"I had time to make this album," said Lambert, who co-wrote many of the songs on "Trespassing" and served as its executive producer. "I do feel that sonically, lyrically and emotionally, this album is a surprise for people – and myself. »

They may not have been enlisted by the commander-in-chief, but a host of A-list celebrities have been drafted by the First Lady for a different kind of military campaign: Alec Baldwin, Bradley Cooper, Michael Douglas and other stars have lent their celestial power to a new PSA for Michelle Obama’s “Got Your Six” campaign, which aims to help military veterans find jobs, education and housing and altogether re-enter civilian life.

Jay-z was the center of attention last night at the launch party for the new cognac, D'ussé, at the Top of the Standard. He went to the NYC hotel despite the big playoff game going down between the NY Knicks and the Miami Heat. That wasn't a problem for Jay-z though - the Standard wheeled out a big screen so Jay could watch the action in his VIP area. Beyoncé Knowles didn't join her husband, but her little sister Solange was on hand along with Pharrell Williams and a bearded Jake Gyllenhaal, who politely declined being photographed when he arrived just before 10 p.m. Jay-z was also treated to a soundtrack of his own greatest hits at the Standard, since DJ Jus-Ske played "Otis" and more for the crowd. Beyoncé and Jay-z were together on Tuesday evening, when they attended a bash for mutual friend Erica Reid's new book. View »

Chester French, the Harvard-groomed band comprised of vocalist D.A. Wallach and multi-instrumentalist Max Drummey, has released the racy video for "Black Girls." The Nsfw video -- premiering exclusively on HuffPost Entertainment -- begins with a white woman dancing along to the pop rock track. She's then joined by a black woman. The two dance around each other a bit and then proceed to get quite intimate with one another.
While the video may seem somewhat narrow in its appeal, the man behind the visuals claims there's more to it than a simple fantasy. "The video’s purpose is to celebrate female beauty, pointing the attention on same sex/interracial love,” director Francesco Carrozzini said. “We approached it with simplicity, trying to make the images speak for themselves in the arch of the very simple story told.”

Scissor Sisters have debuted their new single, "Only the Horses," a pounding dance track produced by Calvin Harris, who recently (and famously) lent his producing skills to Rihanna's smash hit "We Found Love."
"I've known Calvin for quite a while, we met originally making some music with Kylie [Minogue] for the Aphrodite album. He's just a lovely guy, he's so wonderful," Sisters' frontman Jake Shears told BBC1's Fearne Cotton before premiering the song this morning.

Only 5 designers left on Project Runway All Stars. Each of the designers are talented in his or her own right so the only way to weed them out is through more unconventional challenges. This week the designers’ technological skills were put to the test in an avante-garde challenge. Some went safe and some were a little too crazy. They all ended up as Jerell put it: “either fabulous of fugly.”
This weeks challenge combined technology and fashion. The designers were to put together an avante-garde look using different types of lights. Pharrell Williams was the guest judge this week and the winning design would be worn by one of the artists he works with.
There is still not too much going on in the work. The only interesting thing was Michael and his usual antics. He ended up making an array of dresseds before he settled on his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle look. »
