After debuting as a low-res magazine scan earlier this month, here’s a new hi-res look at Sam Worthington as Perseus in Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to the 2009 movie Clash of the Titans which, despite a critical mauling, still took a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. The sequel, which also stars Toby Kebbell, Rosamund Pike, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez and Bill Nighy, is released in the UK on 30th March 2012.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, »

Star Trek 2 Villain Will Be "Original" Says Producer

22 December 2011 11:15 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

While very few details have been revealed about the highly anticipated sequel of Star Trek 2, there has been non-stop online speculation about the movie's villain. Much of the talk revolves around a reprisal of Khan Noonien Singh, who was memorably played by Ricardo Montalbán in a 1967 episode of the original Star Trek series episode and again in the 1982 movie sequel Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Khan had been mentioned as the possible villain for years, with Star Trek screenwriter Roberto Orci stoking the Khan rumor fire by revealing in 2009 that Khan's chances of showing up in the sequel were "50/50."

When Benicio del Toro (Traffic) was confirmed to be director J.J. Abrams' favorite to play the villain in Star Trek 2, the Khan rumors would not die down, even after Abrams publicly stated that any reports of del Toro playing Khan were "not true". Once del Toro »

New hair and new monsters in first trailer for Wrath of The Titans

21 December 2011 12:41 PM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

Sam Worthington leaps back into action - with a longer hairdo rather than his Clash crewcut - in the first trailer for Warner Bros sequel Wrath of the Titans.

The trailer is embedded below, and some new posters for the movie are also featured here.

This time, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) is in the director's chair and there's a fresh menagerie of mythical beasts roaring and thrashing to the sound of Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams.

The monsters include a club-wielding cyclops and - according to one of the posters - the Minotaur, Chimera, Makhai and Titans' leader Kronos.

The good thing is that we may well be seeing some Titans this time. Perhaps not so good is that, like the first film, it's been given a 3D conversion rather than being shot in that format from the start.

The dialogue isn't up to much and the assault of »

Star Trek Sequel Will Not Include Any Original Series Cast Members

20 December 2011 11:19 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Director J.J. Abrams is gearing up for a mid-January start date for the sequel to his highly successful Star Trek pic, and details on the project are starting to trickle down. While one of the neater aspects of the 2009 flick was Leonard Nimoy reprising his role as Spock with the help of a very convenient time-travel aspect, we now have word that no cast members from the original Star Trek series will be popping up in the sequel (sorry William Shatner). Sources tell Showbiz 411 that Abrams has no plans to include any original cast members in the sequel. While it’s not exactly mind-blowing information, I think it’s wise to stick with Abrams’ rebooted cast. Nimoy’s inclusion in Star Trek was a nice way to bridge the gap between the other films and Abrams’ take, but there’s no need to dwell on the past in future installments »

Wrath Of The Titans Trailer Is Ridiculous But What Did We Expect?

20 December 2011 3:04 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

From the sublime The Dark Knight Rises trailer comes the ridiculous with Warner Bros. unleashing the Wrath of the Titans trailer to us unexpectedly last night. There was no fanfare for this one, no teaser for a trailer or a viral campaign… just the releasing of the loud and thunderous trailer that gives us a certain deja vu feeling with the original film.

Certainly if you were a fan of the 2009 film, you will be in for a treat here. Just like the first trailer for the utterly horrific Clash of the Titans remake, the unwanted sequel is all crash, bang, wallop with plenty of CGI monsters and hammy dialogue and pre-school level plot specifics that don’t do any justice at all to the real intrigue and depth of these legendary stories. Nor does it live up to the fun of the Ray Harryhausen induced 80′s adaptation.
