Adam Zwar was born on January 13, 1972 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. He is a writer and actor, known for Lowdown (2010), Wilfred (2007) and Agony (2012). He is married to Amanda Brotchie.

Adam is married to Amanda Brotchie, the AFI award winning filmmaker.
His father is author Desmond Zwar, who wrote the best selling book "The Loneliest Man in the World" about Nazi prisoner, Rudolf Hess. It would later inspire the movie, Wild Geese II (1985). Desmond also wrote the books "This Wonderful World of Golf"; "In Search of Sir Keith Murdoch" and the soon to be released "The Queen, Rupert and Me".
His mother, Delphine, was a long-time writer for House and Garden magazine.
He was born in Cairns. His parents bought the family home from actor Leo McKern.
The acclaimed short-film Wilfred (2002) was inspired by a bad date he went on in November 2001.
