Daniel Tosh Wins $25,000 Bet on Patriots to Cover Friend's Medical Bills
A few months ago, stand-up comedian Andy Ritchie was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In an effort to help cover his costly medical bills, close friend Daniel Tosh made the most of his celebrity status by promoting a GoFundMe page that quickly racked more than $47,000 in donations. Then, Tosh took matters into his own hands by auctioning off some of the props from his show, Tosh.0, that turned into an extra $25,000.

With Ritchie needing $250,000, however, Tosh didn't stop there. Instead, he did what any reasonable friend would do: Hop on

He just wants to look good for you, good for you, Selena. Daniel Tosh, the star of Comedy Central's Tosh.0, has released a shot-for-shot remake of Selena Gomez's sexy "Good For You" music video, and his homage is pretty damn good. And don't get us started on the spot-on shower scene. There's no doubt about it, he really committed here. While there's no A$AP Rocky cameo, Tosh still found an interesting character to sub in. [Tiff Review] The Family Fang

The Family Fang provides fuel for a future auteur study of its director Jason Bateman: haunted by his past as a child actor, his work in front of and behind the camera frequently explores the effects of childhood on adults as they struggle to move through life. Explored in Arrested Development, his directorial debut Bad Words, this summer’s The Gift, and even Juno, this theme has never been sharper than in The Family Fang. In a refreshing take on material that in another hands might have seemed pedestrian or cheap, Bateman has crafted an effective portrait of a dysfunctional family that’s not entirely unlike the Bluth Family. Rabbit Hole playwright and screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire adapts David Wilson’s novel with a rich emotional precision and as funny as it is, the material takes the absurdity seriously.

Nicole Kidman and Bateman star as Annie and Buster, the adult

Why 'Difficult People' works: Some of us actually talk like that

Why 'Difficult People' works: Some of us actually talk like that
"Difficult People" succeeds where "Looking" failed: It speaks my language. Hulu's new comedy, which has officially been renewed for a second season, is more than a look at two misanthropic New York comics (played by Billy Eichner and show creator Julie Klausner) as they attempt to succeed despite their burnout instincts. It's also about characters who seem like, um, actual friends, and that means every one of their jokes isn't algorithmically designed to please the most 18-34 demo eyeballs.  "Difficult People" values the cynicism, sincerity, and pop culture exultation of its characters and chooses to mine those for laughs instead of the same old pile of self-deprecating asides and awkward silences. It's not about easy references to Disney princesses and "Mean Girls" for the clickbait generation; it's about adults who understand (and sometimes misunderstand, in the case of Julie's much-discussed R. Kelly tweet) the merit in their immaturity.  A new

'Review' premiere, 'Key & Peele' return lead Comedy Central summer plans

  • Hitfix
Riding an impressive hot streak of originals, Comedy Central is looking to continue that momentum with a slew of summer premieres and returns including the long-awaited -- by some people, at least -- return of "Review." Starring Andy Daly as life reviewer Forrest MacNeil, "Review" was my No.2 show of 2014 and it came in at No.4 on Sepinwall's Top 10. The first season, which had already been held for a while, premiered last March and was done by the start of May. Season 2 premieres on Thursday, July 30 at 10 p.m. and Comedy Central's season description teases life experiences including "bare-knuckle brawling, joining the mile high club, and even leading a cult." Excellent. What of the other premieres? *** Created by Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome, "Another Period" is a Gilded Age satire featuring Christina Hendricks, Michael Ian Black, David Koechner, Jason Ritter and more and it'll premiere on Tuesday, June 23 at 10:30 p.

The station group will carry the show starting in the fall on its outlets in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis along with Charlotte, N.C., and Washington, D.C. Deal is a win for Comedy Central as it will help generate more profits from one of the Viacom cabler’s signature series.

Daniel Tosh Finally Weighs in on the Super Bowl, Calls Tom Brady a
Well, no one can accuse Daniel Tosh of not speaking his mind. The comedian finally commented on the outcome of this year's Super Bowl, and it's a doozy. (If you're wondering why it took him so long to chime in, he says it's because "Unless I'm getting paid a lot of money, I don't really care to share my thoughts with you people.") In short, he's taking a hard line on Deflategate, and believes that this year's big game is marred by the cheating scandal.  News: Katy Perry's Super Bowl sharks get their own commercial! He also had a few choice words for the New England Patriots and their patron saint Tom Brady. A few of the insults he threw out include:...

Tosh.0 Turns Slamming Espn Into a Science After Sports Network Seemingly Borrows "Web Redemption" Segment

Tosh.0 Turns Slamming Espn Into a Science After Sports Network Seemingly Borrows
Like his humor or not, Daniel Tosh hit this one out of the park. The Tosh.0 host responded in kind to what he felt was Espn ripping off his "Web Redemption" idea with its own "The Awesome Video Segment," co-opting the network's flagship, SportsCenter, for his own bit detailing all the reasons why the show sucks. "Listen, I'm aware America's Funniest Home Videos and Talk Soup have a legitimate gripe against me. It's bad enough MTV has a PG girl version of this show," Tosh launched into making his point on last night's Tosh.0 (not remembering that The Soup hasn't been Talk Soup in some time, but whatever.) "But now sports channels are stealing from me?!"...
