Peter gets 'Taken,' Stewie gets pregnant, and more 'Family Guy' scoop

26 September 2014 12:19 PM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Family Guy returns for season 13 with a vengeance—or at least the most-anticipated crossover episode in years as the Griffins spend some quality time in Springfield with the Simpsons (Sept. 28, 9 p.m. Fox). “I don’t have any expectations that it will start world peace,” executive producer Steve Callaghan tells EW. “I hope it entertains people for an hour, and I hope it puts to rest rumors that there’s a big feud between us and The Simpsons. And I hope it gets people to end global warming.” If that’s the goal of the premiere, how high did Family Guy »

'Sopranos' star Tony Sirico returning to 'Family Guy'-but not as Vinny the dog

25 September 2014 12:29 PM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Is Vinny the dog headed back soon to Family Guy? Not right away, but the actor who gave voice to him is. Tony Sirico—who played the Griffins’ replacement pooch for Brian in three episodes last season—is guest-starring in another episode this season, EW has learned exclusively. This time, the former star of The Sopranos will play a heightened version of himself in several live-action moments that are sprinkled into an installment of the animated Fox comedy that will air in late fall or early winter. “He is irritated about what’s being said a couple different times throughout one episode, »

'Nashville' star Connie Britton to cameo on 'Family Guy'

8 September 2014 9:46 AM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Even Peter Griffin can’t get enough of Connie Britton.

The undeniably likeable Nashville star—who rocks a great head of hair, by the way, and that is a detail that’s relevant for this story—has recorded a brief cameo for Family Guy, EW has learned exclusively. A cutaway gag in an episode titled “Baking Bad” that will air in October involves Peter breaking into Britton’s home. “She wakes up in bed to discover Peter is munching on her hair,” says executive producer Steve Callaghan, adding: “Especially if you saw her in Friday Night Lights, her hair just looks so yummy, »

Comic-Con: Watch 5-Minutes of 'Family Guy' Meets 'The Simpsons'!

26 July 2014 4:18 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this month, we reported that Family Guy will kick off Season 13 with a special one-hour premiere that crosses over with The Simpsons, in an episode entitled "The Simpsons Guy". During the Family Guy Comic-Con panel earlier today, Fox debuted a special five-minute clip that shows the Griffin clan in Family Guy somehow getting stranded in Springfield, where they meet The Simpsons.

Watch as these two Animation Domination hits share the screen together, along with a few surprise cameos from Cleveland Brown (Mike Henry) and Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) from Bob's Burgers, then read on for more details that were revealed during the panel.

Family Guy producers Steve Callaghan and Richard Appel also teased a special Christmas episode, where Jesus returns and the guys all discover that he's a virgin, as they go on a quest to get him laid. Voice actor Mike Henry acknowledged the sacrilegious nature of the episode. »

Justin Bieber may have killed Brian and other 'Family Guy' Comic-Con highlights

26 July 2014 2:43 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Family Guy" hit Ballroom 20 on Saturday (July 26) for its annual Comic-Con panel, an event with kinda tends to ebb and flow in hype based on whether or not Seth MacFarlane is there to mock question-askers.  This was a second consecutive Seth MacFarlane-free year. Last year he was working on "A Million Ways To Die In The West." This year, his absence was unexplained [on the "Family Guy" panel, but it came up at "American Dad" subsequently] and raises the possibility that Seth MacFarlane has just become too big for making fun of questioners at Comic-Con. Fortunately, in lieu of Seth MacFarlane, the "Family Guy" team arrived with a longer clip reel for the season's hour-long "The Simpsons Guy" crossover event, which will air on September 28. At TCA press tour last week we got a very brief sizzle reel that included jokes about the Springfield location ("I can't imagine we're allowed to »

If you’ve always wondered what would happen if Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson hung out at a bar while Bart and Stewie made prank phone calls, Family Guy is about to satisfy your crossover craving. In the Sept. 28 season premiere, “The Simpsons Guy,” the albino Griffins wind up by accident in Springfield, where they are greeted warmly by the hepatits-y Simpsons. But a fast friendship christened with delicious doughnuts may be forever destroyed by an argument over Pawtucket Patriot Ale and Duff Beer, which leads to an epic chicken fight.

Comic-Con: ‘Family Guy’ Producers on ‘Simpsons’ Crossover and Movie Plans

26 July 2014 2:02 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Family Guy’s” Comic-Con panel kicked off with a preview of the show’s much-anticipated Sept. 28 crossover with “The Simpsons,” in which the Griffin family visits Springfield.

Among the highlights from the sneak peek: Homer and Peter eat donuts and realize they have a lot in common; Bart and Stewie prank call Moe’s Tavern (and it escalates quickly); Peter attempts to get Homer to set up a cutaway gag; Bob from “Bob’s Burgers” makes an appearance; Stewie and Bart go skateboarding; Homer and Peter discover some unnerving similarities between Duff and Pawtucket Patriot Ale; and the duo get into a predictably destructive fight across Springfield’s most notable locations.

“Simpsons” creator Matt Groening also appeared during the panel to ask for the producers’ advice on how a young, struggling animator could break into the business, and told them to kiss his ass a little more.

Seth MacFarlane on Brian’s Temporary Death: Rage Wasn’t Anticipated

14 January 2014 10:32 AM, PST | ShockYa | See recent ShockYa news »

Everyone was pretty much astounded when “Family Guy” killed off Brian. When he was first killed off, the show’s executive producer, Steve Callaghan, said it would be a “fun way to shake things up” on the popular Fox animated show. However, “fun” is not how a lot of people felt, both diehards and former fans alike. I think it’s safe to say that Brian is everyone’s favorite character on “Family Guy”–he’s the heart and soul of that show, the only person (or, dog, since that’s what he is) that actually acts like a human being. But anyway, “Family Guy” creator MacFarlane has finally broken his silence as to how he  [ Read More ]
