David Garrick was born in Peckham in south east London, Uk. He started
boxing at the age of eleven having many amateur fights. He decided not
to turn professional but instead choose to join the Army at the age of
seventeen, but still continued to box with his regiment. After
initially serving with the Parachute Regiment and then Special Air Service reserve,
David stayed with the armed forces for a total of fourteen years.
Always a keen sportsman, particularly extreme sports David later
decided to fulfill his childhood desire to becoming a Stuntman.
His first stunt performance was a role in the TV film Cleopatra, where he
doubled for Billy Zane. Since that time he has stunt-doubled for
many Leading actors, including Liam Neeson, Michael Caine,
George Clooney, Vin Diesel, Brendan Frazer and many more.
David has appeared in many TV shows, including as a presenter and
instructor to Nigel Benn and Chris Eubanks in 'Gladiator VIP' and
similarly in Commando VIP.
He has had numerous acting parts in TV shows and films including
"Reign of Fire", "The Golden Compass", "Pennyworth" plus in a few
Guy Richie films, "Sherlock Holmes", as McMurdo the bare knuckle fighter,
having a full contact fight with Robert Downey Junior, Also playing
Dave the gangster in "The Gentlemen".
He also performed in "The Wolfman" doubling Sir Anthony Hopkins as the
Werewolf, having to spend at least five hours each day having prosthetics
applied by Oscar winner Rick Baker and Dave Elsey.
In 2013 David won the Taurus world stunt award for the
opening aerial sequence in "Batman the Dark Knight Rises", performing
an air to air ambush between two aircraft, a stunt that has never been
attempted before.
David has now been a Stunt Coordinator for many years, using all the skills he
has amassed over his time in the Film industry to transformer that into action,
with the ability to communicate on an excellent personal level with Directors,
Producers and Actors to provide exciting, real looking safe action.
