Henry Nwaru
- Actor
The multi-talented Henry Nwaru is an Actor, Dancer, Director, and Martial Artist. He was born in New York City, and raised in the suburbs of Westchester County, specifically the "Queen City of the Sound" New Rochelle. Both of his parents are Nigerian immigrants, and he is the youngest out of four children. Henry graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting in 2018.
In 2008, at the age 14, Nwaru booked his first professional acting job as one of the principle actors in a national Verizon Wireless commercial. After that initial large step into the industry, he booked several more principle roles in commercials for a variety of brands and companies including the Ad Council, Rockstar Films, and Fanta.
Along with booking roles, Nwaru also made a name for himself as a dancer. He was the leader of a crew of kids/teenagers ranging from age 7-17, known as "The Midas Touch." The crew went on to dominate the east coast for several years winning competitions such as "Beast Coast" and "New York's Best Dance Crew" while placing in other competitions such as "Prelude" and "World of Dance."
Whilst at Brooklyn College, Henry developed a love for Stage Combat and Stunt work. Under the tutelage of Eugene Solfanelli, who was a student of Fight Choreographer Mike Chin that is known for his work on projects such as Netflix's Daredevil, Henry learned how incorporate Stage Combat into his martial arts knowledge. Doing so has allowed him to become a versatile actor who can not only negotiate with criminals, but who can beat them up too.
Nwaru is also the originator of roles in two plays that had their world premieres while he was in school. The first is the role of Steve in Must Wash Hands and the second is the role of Malcolm in the aptly named I'm So Hungry I Could Fuck a Horse.
Post-graduation Henry booked the role of Jedi in the Musical Revolutionary which premiered at the 2019 Dream Up Festival in New York City, and in 2020 he will star as one of the principle cast members, Aaron, in the Web Series All In Favor.
