Pac-Man’s A Bad Guy In First Pixels Clip

21 May 2015 7:53 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

I’m more divided on Pixels than on any other blockbuster hitting screens this summer. On one hand, it boasts Chris Columbus at the helm, and initial trailers have made the alien-invasion action-comedy seem like quite a lot of fun. But on the other hand, it has both Adam Sandler and Kevin James, two of the most detestable comedians working in Hollywood today. Here’s hoping that their distinctively lazy brand of comedy doesn’t derail the movie.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of Pac-Man, Sony has unveiled a new clip from the flick, which isn’t really anything more than an extension of a scene we already saw in one of the film’s earlier trailers, involving Denis Akiyama as Pac-Man creator Tōru Iwatani. Still, it’s the only moment from the preview that really warranted any laughs, so there’s no harm in the studio sending it our way once more. »

First Pixels Clip: Professor Iwatani Has a Heart-to-Heart with Pac-Man

20 May 2015 11:41 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

There's definitely something fun about the idea of aliens attacking Earth using gigantic, evil versions of the classic arcade game characters we know and love, but Sony just unveiled the very first Pixels clip in honor of Pac-Man's 35th anniversary and, well, it's just not very funny. There's definitely something clever about the whole Mini Cooper/ghost idea, but the father-son relationship between Pac-Man and his creator, Tōru Iwatani (Denis Akiyama), is a little too bizarre and isn't particularly funny either. Check out the first Pixels clip for yourself below. The film stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, Peter DinklageMichelle Monaghan and Brian Cox, and is due in theaters on July 24th. Pixels: new trailer for Adam Sandler vs videogames movie

Pixels stars Adam Sandler, Pac-Man, Kevin James, Donkey Kong, Peter Dinklage and Space Invaders. Here's the trailer...

Sony and Adam Sandler might just have a hit on their hands with this one. Pixels, which arrives in cinemas in July, see Sandler and his chums (played by Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and, yep, Kevin James) becoming experts at videogames in the 1980s. Fast forward to the present day, and aliens discover feeds of said videogames, and decide that the planet Earth has declared war. As such gaming experts are required to lead the fight back, with the help of some iconic videogame characters.

Pixels, then, weaves in the likes of Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders, and also features in its cast Ashley Benson, Michelle Monaghan and Brian Cox. Directing is Chris Columbus.

A new trailer for the film has arrived, which gives further examples of how gaming characters and live action are weaving together. »

Pixels Already Looks Like Adam Sandler's Best Movie in Years

19 May 2015 12:25 PM, PDT | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Years after the human race sends a time capsule into outer space, a response comes back - but it's not what we'd hoped for. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage all star in Pixels, a live-action-meets-cgi movie about '80s video-game characters that attack the world. Somehow, they've lived in outer space all these years and are now bent on destroying the population. Listen, I'm not saying this plot makes complete sense, but the trailer is pretty funny. Pac-Man is evil, Donkey Kong is tossing barrels, it's just bananas. (See what I did there?) The movie is out on July 24, and you can watch the trailers below. Check out the first trailer: »

The fate of the world rests in the hands of a ragtag team of old-school gamers in the newest trailer for Sony’s “Pixels,” starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Monaghan. James plays the president of the United States, who calls upon his childhood best friend (Sandler) and a team of middle-aged gamers to save the planet from an alien invasion that arrives. »

Watch: Two, Count 'Em, Two Colorful New Trailers for 'Pixels'

19 May 2015 10:05 AM, PDT | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Sometimes one trailer just isn't enough, just like sometimes one cup of coffee isn't enough. Both of those happen to be the case today, as Sony has released two new trailers for its upcoming film Pixels just as I'm about to bike over to my favorite local coffee shop for a little extra caffeine boost. Pixels seeks to delight the classic gamer slash geek in all of us, Wreck-It Ralph style, as it features a number of iconic video game characters including those from Pac-man, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Galaga, Frogger, Q*bert, and Space Invaders. Sounds pretty cool, rightc I'll admit, the physical world-building in the two trailers does look pretty rad, but these days I'm always skeptical of anything starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. Pixels also stars Michelle Monaghan, though, whom I'm generally a fan of, and it's got Q*bert. Who knows, maybe it won't be completely »

Q*Bert, Donkey Kong And More Star In Latest Trailer For Adam Sandler’s Pixels

19 May 2015 9:07 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

What’s old is new again in the latest trailer for Chris ColumbusPixels, which sees Adam Sandler and his gang of friends witness the earth come under siege from the very video game character they grew up with.

From Donkey Kong to Q*Bert, Pac-Man to Space Invaders, the clip is as bombastic as it is nostalgic, with a hoard of extraterrestrials misinterpreting our intergalactic search for intelligent life. Now, having travelled light years to find us, the aliens declare war on humanity leaving President Will Cooper (Paul Blart: Mall Cop star Kevin James) to call upon his childhood friends in order to prevent mass extinction at the hands of, well, malevolent pixels.

And so, it isn’t long before Cooper is joined by the greatest video game champs of the ’80s, replete with all of the old stereotypes one would expect from the generation. Alongside Adam Sandler’s »

Smash More Pixels in Full-Length Trailer for Sony's 'Pixels' Movie

"We've never faced a threat like this before." Sony has debuted the second, full-length trailer for Pixels, the video game action adventure creation starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James and Pac-Man. It also stars Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, and Sean Bean. After a fun teaser trailer, they finally explain more of the plot in thist railer, introducing each of the vintage arcade players who will take on these video game invaders (this does seem a bit similar to that "Futurama" episode). Pixels does look like it's going to be fun to watch, I'll give it that. I just hope the humor isn't so bad, but you never know. Enjoy!
