Gloria Laino is a stage, film, and TV actress best known for her role as "The Mexican," an insane asylum lunatic in the FX award-winning hit drama series "American Horror Story: Asylum."
She plays an Arabic-speaking Iraqi mother-in-law in the current hit comedy series "Superior Donuts," and is also to appear as an Arabic-speaking Algerian in multiple episodes of Michael Bay's TNT series, "The Last Ship."
She was born in Puerto Rico of a Dominican mother and a Puerto Rican father, and raised in New York City and Puerto Rico. She spent her young adult years in Jordan, where she learned to speak fluent Arabic.
Her acting career began on the stage and leaped forward when a line in a play seen by a casting director resulted in her being cast in a principal recurring role on a TV show.
Gloria's rich cultural heritage and language abilities have let to success on Spanish TV and American television as well as film and theater.
