Grey’s Anatomy: Kevin McKidd To Direct New Webisodes, Jessica Capshaw Goes On Maternity Leave

14 October 2010 6:01 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Grey’s Anatomy is on a creative resurgence this season in my opinion and I “thank” the shooting massacre from last May for the much needed rocking of the characters cores. If the first four episodes have been any indication, the rest of the season will be epic as the aftermath continues to affect the characters in more profound ways than one hour can hold.

That’s why I think God for webisodes.

Today, William Keck of TV Guide revealed that there will be a new series of webisodes for Grey’s Anatomy called Seattle Grace: Message of Hope, which will premiere after tonight’s episode. Kevin McKidd, who plays Dr. Owen Hunt on the medical drama, will direct two episodes of the mini-spinoff that will feature Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) as he butts heads with a new Seattle Grace PR person. Mandy Moore to Reprise Grey's Anatomy Role

16 August 2010 10:19 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The traumatized doctors of Seattle Grace Mercy West will be trying their hardest to get back to normal when Grey's Anatomy returns for its seventh season next month, but reminders of the murderous tragedy they collectively witnessed will be everywhere.

Specifically, Mandy Moore.

The singer and actress, who played a memorable role as a patient in May's two-part season finale, will be returning to the show in the sixth episode of the new season.

From MerDer time bombs to a shaken-up Cristina and a couple we know getting married, the new season will clearly be influenced by the last. How does Mandy fit in?

Mandy's character, Mary, was the unfortunate patient coping with a colostomy bag when called upon to assist Bailey in her ultimately unsuccessful, desperate struggle to save the life of gunned-down Mercy West transplant Charles Percy (Robert Baker »

Wilson 'energised' after 'Grey's' finale

21 June 2010 8:31 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Chandra Wilson has revealed that she felt "energised" after filming the recent Grey's Anatomy finale. In the episode, Wilson's character Bailey broke down when Percy (Robert Baker) died after being shot by a gunman in the hospital. "It was actually one of those things where the situation was so incredibly sad," Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "Pounding on things and lashing out - all of that stuff is very much against my personality. So just being in that position - the richness of where the characters were - was all I needed." Wilson added that she felt like the scenes were perfect for the programme. "I was really energised after that," she said. "I just felt like everything was in the right place. We were doing exactly what we needed to be doing at that point in time. Everything led up to that - and then there was (more) »

'Grey's Anatomy': Jesse Williams back as a regular

8 June 2010 11:44 AM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) isn't off the hook that easily.

Jesse Williams, who plays Dr. Jackson Avery, will returns as a regular to "Grey's Anatomy," confirms Fancast.

Warning: Spoilers! If you haven't seen the Season 6 finale, skip everything below.

The surgeon, one of two of the Mercy West crew who survived the killer (heh) season finale, had previously shown interest in Cristina, who eventually seemed to not hate him. That's a start.

Besides, Jackson, April (Sarah Drew) is the other Mercy West survivor. Reed (Nora Zehetner) and Percy (Robert Baker) didn't escape the gunman.

Jesse Williams Confirmed For Grey's Anatomy Season Seven Cast

22 March 2010 9:35 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

A Grey's Anatomy rep confirms that Jesse Williams, whose character was introduced in the current sixth season, will be back for the following season (2010-11) as Dr. Jackson Avery.

“That is good news,” the star told TV Guide upon hearing the news. “I did not know. I mean I had fingers crossed. They said, ‘We feel great about you.’ It was everything but the word.”

Jesse may be surprised, or just very modest, we are certainly not. Since arriving as a Mercy West transplant and shaking things up, he's emerged as an intriguing character this year.

“I can’t pretend I didn’t notice the amount of time and energy they invested in the character,” admits Williams, who has already had some substantial story lines. “I’m totally excited!”

Jesse says he intentionally avoided discussing his potential future on the show with his colleagues who play the other three Mercy West newcomers – Robert Baker (Dr. »

Grey's Anatomy Fires Two of the Mercy West Crew

8 March 2010 4:40 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

As we previously reported, Grey’s Anatomy will be down two doctors in Season Seven, with Katherine Heigl possibly added to that list later, but currently up in the air.

Both upcoming Grey's Anatomy dismissals involve Mercy West transplants, which has been rumored in recent weeks. Now we can confirm exactly which ones are out.

Entertainment Weekly confirms pink slips are being doled out to Robert Baker (Dr. Charles Percy) and Nora Zehetner (Dr. Reed Adamson), who won't be back this fall.

As for their fellow Mercy Westers, Jesse Williams (Dr. Jackson Avery) and Sarah Drew (Dr. Kepner), their status is unclear, but rumor is they may be around long-term.

Especially in the case of Williams, it's hard to imagine he won't. Jackson has played the biggest role this season among the Mercy Westers, and generates major buzz.

Two Gone ... and two to go? Or two to stay?
