When we heard that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz had been fired from Melrose Place, it was music to our ears.
Unfortunately, before she leaves, there will be painful images for our eyes.
Colin Egglesfield, who plays Auggie and who also got the boot, told E! News yesterday that his character and that of Simpson-Wentz will get hot and heavy before they depart the show in early 2010.
"There are very few clothes involved in the near future," the actor said, while an insider added that Auggie and Violet are involved in a pair of steamy sex scenes in the near future.
This does not mean, however, that Violet and Auggie will leave the show together, hand-in-hand, in a healthy relationship.
Egglesfield said his character is headed down a dark path, as teased via instant message last episode.
"Things get pretty violent and kind of crazy. Auggie ends up hitting the bottle and falls »

It has been announced earlier that Ashlee Simpson will be let go from "Melrose Place", but the latest report suggested that before she exits the show around episode 13, she will leave some steamy sex scenes behind. E! Online has broken out her sex scenes rumor, reporting that the raunchy scenes will involved her also ousted co-star Colin Egglesfield.
Citing an insider, E! made notes that there will be two scenes in the next few episodes of The CW series that will feature Ashlee's Violet and Egglesfield's Augie almost completely naked. Colin himself has told the publication about the thumb up given by the younger sister of Jessica Simpson on having to do the scenes. "She's up for anything," he said.
As for how far the two will shed their skins in front of the camera, the 36-year-old actor teased, "It involves us both wearing half-loin cloths that they had to tape to us. »

Looks like the Parents Television Council is going to have more ammo. We're hearing there's going to be a "crazy naked" sex scene on Melrose Place before the two recently ousted players go on their merry way: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield. How racy is it? "It involves us both wearing half-loin cloths that they had to tape to us," Colin himself tells us. "There are very few clothes involved in the near future." And if your name is Bronx you probably shouldn't hear this part, but Colin says of Ashlee/Violet: "She's up for anything." Saucy! Not that we're complaining, but what's behind all of this nakedness, and why is the... »

Sure, the two may be axed for good on Melrose Place, but it doesn't mean they can't go down without a bang. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield reveals to E! Online that a "crazy naked" scene will be their goodbye to the CW reboot.
"It involves us both wearing half-loin cloths that they had to tape to us. There are very few clothes involved in the near future. She's up for anything," Colin says about Ashlee.

Amanda's back. And the bitchiness that erupts from her very pores in the first 10 seconds of her appearance alone is enough to make me squeal. It's delicious. Thank God she's on the show. I might start liking it from now on.
There will be a battle of the blonde bitches. You better believe it. Check out photos from the November 17th episode and watch the promo and a fantastic sneak peek below. Look at how she rolls her eyes when she sees Ella's outfit. It's priceless.
The Bitch Is Back! Heather Locklear Returns As Amanda
Ella (Katie Cassidy) and Caleb (Victor Webster) are stunned when agency owner Amanda Woodward (Heather Locklear) walks into Wpk and immediately fires half the staff, including Caleb.
Amanda makes it clear to Ella that the Anton V launch party with Riley (Jessica Lucas) better go off without a hitch or Ella can vacate her office too. »

Heather Locklear arrives on Melrose Place next week, and all we have to say is: Thank goodness!
The show has dragged for weeks now. No storyline stands out, largely due to the fact that Sydney's murder is no longer a mystery, due to the firing of Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee "I Suck!" Simpson.
On last night's installment - titled "Ocean" and recapped in detail on TV Fanatic - David made a move on Lauren and Jonah made amends with Riley.
Before doing so, however, he turned down the advances of Ella, which was dumb for two reasons:
Has he looked at Ella Simms?!? This is why we watch Melrose Place: for tawdry sex and immoral actions. Jonah going home to Riley instead of to a hotel with Ella isn't sweet and romantic; it's boring and lame.
At least we got to see the old, manipulative Michael Mancini back in action. »

On tonight's episode of Melrose Place, the police search Auggie's (Colin Egglesfield) apartment after his blood was found on Sydney's (Laura Leighton) murder weapon. They also want the other residents to demand where he went.
Yet the more significant part of the episode is probably the spotlight on the relationship of Riley (Jessica Lucas) and Jonah (Michael Rady). The thing is, a work incident has Jonah pretending he's engaged to Ella (Katie Cassidy), but she really gets into the role-playing, and this kind of causes him to reflect on stuff about his engagement with Jonah. Add to this the pressure for Riley to decide whether or not to help the police, because she actually knows where Auggie is staying.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is said to have acted like a "diva" on the set of Melrose Place. The 25-year-old was recently confirmed to be leaving the CW series along with actor Colin Egglesfield and the pair will make their final appearances in a January episode. It has been suggested that the actress, who played Violet Foster on the reboot, was asked to leave the show because she was "deeply disliked" by her co-stars, Fox News reports. "Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members. It created a lot of (more) »

Though shocking, I still haven't managed to unravel the mystery behind Sydney's murder on The CW's "Melrose Place". Since nearly every resident at the famous apartment complex has been named a suspect somewhere throughout the season, the following clip doesn't exactly prove anything except that Auggie is the next to be penned a primary suspect. While it would make sense considering Colin Egglesfield is set to depart the show very soon, it seems far too obvious and the writers have worked far too hard to keep the viewers guessing to make the killer's identity such a no-brainer. We'll let you be the detective. Check out the new promo clip for the upcoming episode "Ocean" inside!

Remember that knife the cops found last week on Melrose Place? Well, according to the sneak peek above from Tuesday's all-new episode, Auggie's prints are all over it! Could our nearly departed Colin Egglesfield be playing the killer after all? The evidence says yes, but after watching this sneak peek, we're beginning to wonder about Katie Cassidy's conniving Ella. She's definitely up to something. And then there's ol' crazy eyes herself, Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz), who is, of course, named in the Melrose Place yearbook as Resident Most Likely to Be a Homicidal Maniac. We're getting closer to Heather Locklear's return to Melrose Place (check out some promo photos) on November 17. But first we have the November 10th episode (episode 1.09 "Ocean"). We've posted photos for it, but now we have two sneak peeks and a short promo video.
The Police Arrest Auggie For Murder
After learning Auggie’s (Colin Egglesfield) blood was on Sydney’s (Laura Leighton) murder weapon, the police search his apartment and demand the other residents tell them where he went. Riley (Jessica Lucas) is conflicted about whether to help the police, but Jonah (Michael Rady) pushes her to make the call as she knows where Auggie is staying.
Meanwhile, a work incident causes Jonah to pretend he’s engaged to Ella (Katie Cassidy) who really gets into the role playing. David (Shaun Sipos) arranges a secret play date with his little brother Noah (guest star Cameron Castaneda) but after the little boy hurts himself, »

Paging Heather Locklear: can you get to Melrose Place even earlier than November 17? The show really needs you.
Last night's episode, "Gower," highlighted a few of the show's weaker points and characters. Click on the title of the episode for a recap and read below for our expanded take on the installment...
Just fire them now: Like Grey's Anatomy, Melrose Place now has the problem of real-life events blurring on-camera plot developments. It was difficult enough to take any scene with Colin Egglesfield or Ashlee Simpson seriously before, due to their acting. Now that we know they're leaving the show? Any time spent on Auggie and Violet feels like a waste.
Just break-up already: How long will the show drag out the relationship between Jonah and Riley? The love birds were clearly doomed from the start, but a couple of kisses - followed by guilt-ridden reactions - is not »

We previously posted a short promo video of Heather Locklear's return to Melrose Place, which is scheduled for November 17. Now we have the complete set of promo photos, along with a synopsis (thanks to theCW). It looks like Amanda Woodward will be stirring up trouble right from the get-go. Exactly what this show needs. One question, did we already know that Amanda apparently owned the publicity agency that Ella works at?

As you might expect, The CW is doing everything in its power to hype the return of Heather Locklear.
The actress reprises the classic role of Amanda Woodward on the November 17 episode of Melrose Place, still images from which you can check out now.
The network has also released a new promotional poster, warning fellow characters to watch their backs over the next few months...
It's no secret that ratings for Melrose Place have been tanking. The show hopes this return will create a spike, along with the recent cast shake-up.

The fact that Ashlee Simpson's "Melrose Place" character has been written off is pissing her sister Jessica Simpson. The older Simpson wrote on her Twitter, "CW catching up on MP. who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with, but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."
Ashlee is canned from "Melrose Place" after starring in the new series for several episodes in season 1. When the show was promoting its season premiere, her character Violet was made one of the regulars. Jessica had been keen on promoting the show while Ashlee was still attached, reminding her Twitter followers to watch it on Tuesday nights.
Rumor has it, Ashlee was only hired to be the mysterious girl to create some buzz for the show. "But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible," a studio insider told Us Weekly. »

It's official: Nick Zano is moving in to Melrose Place.
The actor, most recently seen on Cougar Town, will portray a doctor at the hospital at which Lauren and Michael work. He recently spoke to Michael Ausiello about joining The CW drama. A few excerpts:
On his character: He moves into the building and works at the local hospital. He’s a person who enjoys life. He lives every day to [its fullest]... I just literally walked out of a meeting with [exec producers] Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. They were very specific about how they’re going to change the direction of the show. In TV, you usually don’t get a chance to fix anything.
It’s always easier to cancel something than fix it. And The CW clearly has a passion for the show, because it’s still on the air. And all of these people are making a very concentrated »

Do you feel that the actor who plays Courtney Cox's boytoy on the rookie ABC comedy Cougar Town is not given enough screen time? Well worry no more, Nick Zano, the 31-year-old who plays the boytoy to Cox's cougar, is in negotiation with Melrose Place people to replace, sort of, the axed Colin Egglesfield, whose character Auggie was given the walking papers recently because his character was "too dark" for Melrose.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Zano, who was also on One Tree Hill and 7th Heaven, will play a doctor who works with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and Michael (Thomas Calabro) at Wilshire Memorial. Melrose Place showrunner Todd Slavkin said in a previous interview that the character is "irreverent and funny" as opposed to dark and brooding Auggie. The as yet unnamed new cast member will move into the building and will interact with Lauren.
