Cal (Tim Roth) and Ria (Monica Raymund) need to ascertain if a violent gang member, Manny Trillo (Paul Calderon) in prison has reformed and should be released pending a pardon from the governor. As the guards escort Manny to be questioned by them Cal notices the hostile intent towards Manny from the other prisoners. Anyone can see the prisoners will attack him and Manny is stabbed in the neck during the furore. Gillian (Kelli Williams) and Eli (Brendan Hines) probe the death of a probie fireman who was left inside a burning building. Mike Adams (Carlos Lacamara) introduces them to Eric's (Andre Kincaid) grandfather, Mr Mitchell (Antonio Fargas). Eric was already dead before the fire reached him and so Mike suspects he was murdered. Gillian says Tom Clayton, the lieutenant (Brad Beyer) should question the men instead of them. A man comes out of a building in Chinatown on fire in the rain. Mac (Gary Sinise) comments on his eyebrows and eyelashes being singed. There's bruising on his his cheek but his face hasn't got the same degree of burns as his chest. Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) comments on there being "something gooey here." Mac: "gooey that's a good forensic word, gooey, I'll have to use that more." Mac notices the trace of melted plastic and finds a discarded mask. Inside the bank, the safety deposit vault was cut away from the wall. Flack: "Gotta wear a mask for a bank robbery, it's a rule." Two bank security guards fired shots and the acetylene tank caught fire. Martin Hummel (Matt Bushell) one of the guards thinks there were two, but he was trying to save his partner, Tony's life. Wendell Pierce will portray a human in ’The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’

Last October, a list of castmembers added to portray supporting role characters in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 was announced, and still most of those actors' characters for the film(s) are unknown.

(Note: Ty Olsson has since been revealed as Bella's stepfather, "Phil Dwyer," for the films; that character was portrayed briefly by Matt Bushell in 2008's Twilight).

Wendell Pierce of the hit HBO series Treme was one of them.

Early speculation on Pierce's involvement in Breaking Dawn (done by MTV's Hollywood Crush) pegged him as the character "Max," the assistant to "J. Jenks" who greets the newly-vamped Bella on the street, and that thought may not be far from the mark.

Wendell Pierce has been interviewed by Rolling Stone about the second season of Treme, and in that interview, he explained a bit about his character in Breaking Dawn, »
