Coming off her action role in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Deadline reports that Paula Patton has signed on to headline Baggage Claim, David Talbert’s adaptation of his own 2003 novel. Patton will play Montana Moore, a 35-year-old flight attendant who runs the risk of being the only woman in her family to not be married (Gasp!). Not wanting to show up to her younger sister’s engagement party alone, she decides to go on a 30,000 mile trek around the world to find herself a man. Baggage Claim begins production in September and will mark Talbert’s second time behind the camera, his first being 2006′s First Sunday starring Ice Cube and Katt Williams.
Talbert’s career is almost parallel to his contemporary Tyler Perry, having also built a following by touring his plays across the country (First Sunday was Talbert’s first attempt as turning one of his plays into »

Kevin Hart is noticeably short for a guy. He has a standup comedy show called I’m a Grown Little Man for Pete’s sake. At that height it’s either be the jokester or become the joke. Well, Kev’s laughing all right — all the way to the bank. Hart has all but been omitted from lists of comedians on the verge of a huge breakthrough. That may all change with his stellar performance in last weekend’s box office hit, Think Like a Man, which offers him just the type of exposure he needs to reach a larger audience. As Cedric, a bitter divorcee who can’t stop talking about his wife or arguing with her, Hart is knee-slapping funny. And he’s following up that breakthrough role with a small but punch-line-heavy part in this weekend’s big release The Five-Year Engagement.
Hart’s moment hasn’t »

Comedian Jim Norton doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to his opinions. A veteran stand-up and radio host with a notorious chip on his shoulder, Norton's humor often lies in his utter disgust in the state of culture, politics and more.
I had the chance to sit down with Norton at Caroline's on Broadway and get his take on the Gop candidates, the biggest stories in comedy and whether or not he thinks a comedian would make a good president.
Norton shared some hilarious (read: Nsfw) material on Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney before commenting on the hot, new "Louis C.K." model of distributing stand-up specials directly to fans online (Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansari have recently jumped on the bandwagon).
Norton also gave us his take on the issue of comedians like Tracy Morgan, Katt Williams and Gilbert Gottfried apologizing for things said in stand-up acts and on Twitter. »

In between custody battles, tractor stand offs, and being arrested ... comedian Katt Williams somehow rakes in $28,000 a Month -- this according to new legal docs. You may recall ... Katt won back custody of his 8-year-old adopted daughter from his former nanny in December -- after a protracted legal battle -- and just filed new documents in the case, updating L.A. County Superior Court on his financial status. In the docs, Katt lists his average »

Do you want me to apologize after every joke? If it doesn't offend somebody it's probably not a joke. It's probably an observation that's not funny. It's gotta offend somebody somewhere.

When Tracy Morgan made a joke about killing his son if he talked to him "in a gay voice," it ignited a firestorm of controversy. But should it have? Morgan, an actor and comedian noted for his outrageous performance style, was doing a comedy set in front of a comedy audience. He was not speaking in public, from a pulpit or to a friend. He was on stage as "Tracy Morgan, Comedian"; the guy you should definitely "put the kids to bed" before watching.
Many comedians and fans alike, consider the comedy stage a sacred place, where the dark, offensive, sacrilegious and even stupid can and should remain uncensored.
The Morgan "homophobic rant" controversy drew very different reactions from the comedy community, »
