Mother, Zubeyde Hanim (born 1862; died 1923). His relationship with her turned sour after she married again (his father died when young Ataturk was seven). He was known to be rude to her and his step-father. They lost touch with each other. Zubeyde was commemorated on a stamp marking Mother's Day in 1956.
The massive reforms he enacted during his tenure as President of Turkey
