For about two years in late 1970s, he played "Grimsley", a ghoul-like figure who hosted Saturday night horror movies on Channel 9 (then KHJ-TV) in Los Angeles. During commercial breaks, Grimsley would make fun of the movies. This was easy, since most of the movies were low-budget.
