Grimm Spoilers: Creature Feature

The first seven episodes of Grimm came and went at the tail end of fall with a lot of promise. The show has yet to make the leap from good to pretty good or even great, but there's so much raw material there that you have to watch to see if it all comes together. Make no mistake, I enjoy Grimm, but I enjoy it while understanding that its ceiling is pretty high, considering the talent involved both in front of and behind the camera.

But how would the show move into its next slate of episodes?

For one, we have a whole lot of new fairy tales to interpret (and re-interpret). Hansel & Gretel will come to life in the form of Daryl Sabara and Hannah Marks; according to Entertainment Weekly, the two will appear in an episode titled "Organ Grinder" as homeless teenagers getting caught »

Film Review: ‘The Artist’ is Magical Ode to Old Hollywood

19 December 2011 1:17 PM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – “The Artist” is the kind of film for which a critic feels an added responsibility. The fact is that I know that a large number of readers won’t go anywhere near a movie that is described as “a black & white ode to silent films.” Eek. Sounds like torture. And yet, I also know for a fact that a vast majority of those same readers would Love “The Artist.” This is a stellar piece of filmmaking, one of the best of the year. Jump on the bandwagon early for what will surely be one of the major players of the upcoming awards season.

Rating: 5.0/5.0

The Artist” isn’t just about the era of silent film, it Is a silent film. As hard-to-bear as that may sound, it is also one of the most joyous experiences you will have at the theater this season. The film drips with admiration and »

Synopsis for Grimm Episode 1.08 - Of Mouse and Man

19 December 2011 11:26 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

NBC's new series "Grimm" is on holiday hiatus until Friday, January 6th, but in the meantime we have a brief synopsis of its upcoming Episode 1.08, "Of Mouse and Man". While we've enjoyed several of the series' episodes so far, they really need to tighten things up a bit as we're finding the show to be quite uneven thus far.

In any event, here's what you can look forward to on the 6th:

"Of Mouse and Man" Synopsis (Airing 1/6/12):

When a man is found dead in a dumpster, the investigation leads to a sly snake and timid mouse.

Inspired by Grimms' fairy tales, "Grimm" follows Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli, as he battles supernatural forces. Bitsie Tulloch portrays his fiancée, Juliette Silverton, with Russell Hornsby as his partner, Hank Griffin, and Silas Weir Mitchell as his confidant, Monroe. Reggie Lee and Sasha Roiz co-star. Grimm Exclusive: Bitsie Tulloch on the Future of Juliette

16 December 2011 5:13 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Here's an interesting Grimm fact: Juliette was not originally a veterinarian.

While this vocation seems ideally suited to someone engaged to a detective investigating unusual creatures, Bitsie Tulloch tells me her character was portrayed as a baker in the initial pilot script. So, what changed?

"I think they realized there's only so much you can do with a baker," the actress said, adding that she actually has a dog and producers were likely inspired by her affection for it.

Grimm Promo: "Let Down Your Hair"

Can viewers expect to learn more about Juliette as the series goes on? She's been mostly on the sidelines so far, a fact Tulloch says is due to the writers amping up the mystery elements of the drama after early drafts.

"We're shooting episode 13 right now," he said. "And there's a little more of a reveal regarding my character then. The show is taking its »

After a great start, the NBC series "Grimm" hit a little bump in the road with its fifth episode, but this past Friday night's installment saw the show return to form (thanks largely to the focus on Monroe's character). Here's hoping the upcoming Episode 1.07, "Let Your Hair Down", in which the tale of Rapunzel gets a "Grimm" spin, continues the trend.

Friday round-up: previews, cast interviews and new projects

9 December 2011 7:39 PM, PST | CapricaTV | See recent CapricaTV news »

This is the first part of the weekend monster update, with more news & stuff coming in the next couple of days.

I got my Grimms confused in yesterday's post as it turns out. Tonight's episode won't be "Let Your Hair Down," but "The Three Bad Wolves." Rapunzel doesn't show up until next week.

Nick (David Giuntoli) is called to a suspected arson case, which exposes a longstanding family feud that brings Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) face-to-face with characters from his troubled past. While Monroe wrestles with restraining his wild side, it’s up to Nick to keep everything from going up in flames. Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star. There are a few sneak peeks at THR and Dread Central. Spoiler TV has the promotional stills. Here is the teaser:

A Couple of Previews of Tonight's Episode of Grimm - The Three Bad Wolves

9 December 2011 11:29 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

NBC shook things up a bit this week by scheduling an extra installment of "Grimm" last night, but sadly, it was one of the weakest eps we've seen thus far. Hopefully the show will get back on track tonight with "The Three Bad Wolves". While we wait to find out if it does, check out this pair of promo videos for the episode featuring our favorite Blutbad, Monroe.

Inspired by Grimms' fairy tales, "Grimm" follows Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli, as he battles supernatural forces. Grimm: Two New Trailers for Tonight’s New Episode

9 December 2011 10:00 AM, PST | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

Yes, two new Grimms in one week! And this one looks like it has even more Monroe goodness! We love this show, and Silas Weir Mitchell‘s part in it really adds a necessary quirky element (because people who are actually bees, or goats, or The Pied Piper – that’s just not quirky enough for us). Bring on the Big Bad Wolves:

The Three Bad Wolves (TV-14) A Suspicious Fire Reveals A Rivalry With Connections To Monroe –Nick (David Giuntoli) is called to a suspected arson case, which exposes a longstanding family feud that brings Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) face-to-face with characters from his troubled past. While Monroe wrestles with restraining his wild side, it’s up to Nick to keep everything from going up in flames. Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star.
