With this year's Independence Day falling on a Saturday, it was inevitable that the annual Macy's 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular (0.9/6) wasn't going to be as explosive as previous celebrations. And with an 18% drop among adults 18-49 from 2014 that fizzle was exactly what happened on a much more competitive night than last year. Besides the bright lights above the NYC skyline, the 2-hour NBC show had performances from Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, the U.S. Air Force… »

When you think Taylor Swift... Jason Alexander hopes you think of him! TMZ caught up with the Seinfeld star after a fundraiser at the El Rey theater in L.A. this week and, upon hearing that Alexander had sung a little Swift music inside, they asked if he was a fan. "Not only am I a Swift fan," the chatty actor revealed, "I put her in her first video." It turns out that Alexander directed the 2007 Cma Award-wining music video for Brad Paisley's tune "Online," and he picked a then-aspiring country star named Taylor Swift and a recent American Idol contestant named Kellie Pickler to be backup dancers. The video was also quite the Seinfeld family affair, also »

Jimmy Fallon and Russell Crowe teamed up for a revival of the Tonight Show host's classic folk protest anthem, "Balls in Your Mouth," Wednesday night, once again shedding light on the scourge of tar balls still floating in the Gulf Coast five years after the Bp oil spill.
This week marks both the fifth anniversary of the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig and Wednesday's Earth Day celebration. Consequently, Fallon felt compelled to act, telling Crowe he couldn't believe that tar balls were continued to wash up on shore. »

In HitFix's new feature "Waxing Episodic," we reflect on an episode of television we'll never forget. FX's "Justified" is coming to an end next week. Let's all respectfully tip our morally color-coded cowboy hat to Graham Yost and company's often superb Elmore Leonard adaptation, which has dispensed heaping servings of badassery on a consistent basis, especially if you pretend Season 5 just never happened. But just as Season 5 is accepted by anybody sensible as the "Justified" nadir, I'm unprepared to accept the contention that any "Justified" season other than the second constitutes its peak. "Justified" has reliably hovered in the second half of my Top 20 for all of its non-Season 5 seasons, but Season 2 was the only one to crack my Top 10, finishing at No.7, which seemed insufficiently rapturous to me in retrospect, but I looked back at the six shows that finished above and you're talking about the final "Friday Night Lights" season, »

Hollywood headed down south for the 2015 SXSW film, interactive and music festival in Austin, Texas, for the annual 10-day event, which wraps up on March 22.
“No one wants to go up those flights of stairs over and over and over again. Once you’re up, you kind of just stay here,” star Shane West joked about the jam-packed rooftop soireé, which was complete with aerialists (a.k.a. levitating enchantresses) and apothecaries — better known as multiple bars — as he sipped on a cocktail.
“It’s funky-town,” new cast member Lucy Lawless told Variety, hours after arriving at SXSW with her co-stars (the entire “Salem” cast took a six-hour road trip together from their Shreveport, La., set to Austin, thanks to their flights being canceled at the last minute). “[Austin] has got so much character. »

Hollywood headed down south for the 2015 SXSW film, interactive and music festival in Austin, Texas, for the annual ten day event, which wraps up on March 22.
SXSW kicked off on Friday the 13th, very fittingly with a haunted house party, hosted by Wgn America’s supernatural thriller “Salem.”
“No one wants to go up those flights of stairs over and over and over again. Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns to Austin, Texas this week for South by Southwest, and in the spirit of giving back amidst the festival's corporate milieu — and keeping Austin weird — host Jimmy Kimmel and Matthew McConaughey teamed up to produce three ridiculous commercials for local video store Vulcan Video.
Kimmel first swings through Vulcan where he meets the proprietors, Bryan and Kristen, who show off the store's extensive inventory, from large collections of Jerry Lewis films and Canadian TV shows to a copy of Hot Dog... The Movie, a film Kimmel fondly remembers from his youth. »
If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live" is in Austin, Texas, and in a little boost to the local economy, he posted a tweet asking if any businesses might want him to help them produce a TV commercial. He went with Vulcan Video and shot a commercial starring a "local actor" named Matthew McConaughey. Everything is better with McConaughey. This is a must-watch especially when McConaughey shows up and gets in classic McConaughey mode.
Kevin Hart was on Jkl and talked about the time he tried to work out with the University of Texas football team and it was a little too much for him. He threw up. "I didn't even clean it up, »

Jimmy Kimmel took his ABC show to Austin, Texas, for the week to celebrate the annual SXSW festival.
Welcomed by an audience of 2,400 of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” fans, including tons of locals who gave the latenight host restaurant recommendations during the commercial breaks, Kimmel launched his first show of the week by telling the audience about his fondness for Austin — and the food the city has to offer.
“We’re here for a whole week because that’s how long it takes to get to the front of the line at Franklins,” Kimmel joked of a popular barbecue house in Austin. He added that, in just his first few days down South, he’s indulged in burgers, queso, banana cream pie and a fair amount of alcohol.
“This town turns you into an animal,” he said.
In the first video sketch of the night, Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo stepped on »
