Today it was announced that Muga Tsukaji of the comedy duo Drunk Dragon will get his first solo starring role in Kuroneko Lucy, an upcoming film version of a TV drama of the same name.
Tsukaji will play a fortune teller and Megumi Yasu will play his estranged wife. Tsukaji’s character, Ken Kamoshida, is the son of the drama’s protagonist, Yo Kamoshida, who died 7 years earlier from Ken’s perspective. Although the drama focused on his father, the movie will instead focus on Ken’s life as a fortune teller after coming into possession of two black kittens.
Toru Kamei (Neko Taxi, Inukai-san chi no Inu) will direct.
“Kuroneko Lucy” will be released in Japan in October.
