Ringer: Cancelled; No Season Two for CW Series

12 May 2012 9:46 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar's return to television, Ringer couldn't hold onto its audience. The show's been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.

As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who's witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan's place and soon realizes that her sister's life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.

Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer's premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

Ringer: Should It Be Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

17 April 2012 9:10 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Tonight marks the last episode of Ringer's first season -- and likely of the TV series as well. Despite being The CW's most anticipated new TV show of 2011-12, the series hasn't been able to hold onto its audience.

Ringer revolves around a former exotic dancer named Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who, after being the sole witness to a professional hit, reunites with her wealthy estranged twin, Siobhan. When Siobhan disappears, Bridget assumes her identity and discovers that her sister's complicated life rivals her own. The show also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Mike Colter, Ioan Gruffudd, Zoey Deutch, Tara Summers, and Kristoffer Polaha).

The series debuted to strong numbers (by CW standards anyway) with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million total viewers. That was pretty close to being on par with the smallest network's most popular show, The Vampire »

17 April 2012 5:33 AM, PDT | digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Ringer co-creator Nicole Snyder has dropped hints about the season finale. In an official CW video, Snyder promised that episode 'I'm The Good Twin' will be "fun and crazy and delicious". "The fun of this episode is, will Siobhan (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Henry (Kristoffer Polaha) get everything they want and end up together, or will Siobhan's secrets and lies tear this relationship apart?" she teased. The finale will also see Bridget planning to reveal to Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd) that she stole her twin sister Siobhan's identity. Sarah Michelle Gellar Spends a Sweet Day With Smiley Charlotte

13 April 2012 8:44 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Sarah Michelle Gellar held hands with her daughter Charlotte Prinze yesterday while out shopping in La. The Gellar girls ran errands without Charlotte's dad, Freddie Prinze, Jr. Sarah Michelle and Freddie have been married since September 2002 and will celebrate 10 years married this Fall. They welcomed Charlotte nearly three years ago, on Sept. 19, 2009. Joking about an addition to their family, Sarah Michelle talked about getting a cat with us back in February. Since then, Smg has been busy with her TV show Ringer. The Ringer season finale airs next Tuesday on The CW, but there hasn't been a decision made yet about whether or not Smg and her leading men Kris Polaha and Ioan Gruffudd will be back for a second go-round. 'Ringer' actor Ioan Gruffudd teases 'intense' season ender

10 April 2012 3:17 PM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Last we saw on Ringer, Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) was a little down — literally. She was passed out on the floor after being drugged by Catherine, who recapper Tim Stack has fittingly dubbed the First Lady of Crazytown.

And this week, don’t look for Catherine to go easy on poor, incapacitated Bridget, says Ioan Gruffudd, who plays Bridget/Siobhan’s husband, Andrew. “I think it’d be pretty hard for Catherine to be redeemed ,” the actor told EW during a recent sit-down. “Unless she gets away with what she’s done, I can’t imagine her being redeemed. In this episode of "Ringer," "It's Called Improvising, B****!," Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) finds out who the enemy is, but she's been drugged. Makes it hard to get revenge, doesn't it? Henry (Kristoffer Polaha) isn't having a good day either. He's been told that he isn't getting custody of the twins.

In a new clip from the show, we see Siobhan (Gellar) try to convince Henry not to take the charges lying down. The producers have compared this episode to "Pulp Fiction." Check out the clip below and let us know what you think.

"Ringer," which continues to have the best episode names on television, airs Tuesday night on The CW. Which episode name is your favorite?

Kris Polaha to Guest Star on Awkward

2 April 2012 9:02 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The fate of his CW drama may be up in the air, but at least Kris Polaha knows where he'll be this summer.

The Ringer star has landed a two-episode arc on Awkward, Entertainment Weekly reports, as he'll come on board the fun MTV hit as a character who figures "prominently" in the past of Nikki DeLoach's Lacey.

DeLoach actually guest-starred on an episode of Ringer this year. It's unclear (read: unlikely) whether or not The CW will pick up this series for a second season.

MTV is yet to announced a return date for Awkward, but look for it in either June or July. »

If there’s one thing you can count on with the CW Network it’s that every show – from Vampire Diaries to Nikita and Supernatural - has its share of hot guys. Even when some of their primetime schedule seems primarily geared towards young women – shows like Gossip Girl, Ringer and Hart Of Dixie come to mind - the network is very well aware that more than a few guys are watching, too, and they’re not tuning in to see the latest couture gown that Leighton Meester’s bitchy Blair Waldorf is wearing.

At the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour last month in Pasadena, CA, AfterElton.com sat in on a special panel put together to celebrate the hunks on the network. Called The Bad-Ass Boys of the CW, the panel featured Jared Padalecki (Supernatural »
